Hello from Riverside California

Postby OBDGUY » Sat Feb 01, 2020 1:36 am

Hi to all from Cali. David here, I began building my teardrop a year ago by demolishing an old DIY teardrop I bought. The only salvagable part was the trailer. I've done some modifying and welding to prepare for my creation. This is where I am as of 1/31/2020. The trailer has been widened, rust eliminated inside and out, sealed, painted, axle over spring conversion, new tires, and bearings.

Nice foundation to start with. What are you thinking about for the cabin style?
Holy cow, Rose is a teenager now! Done? Surely you jest. A teardrop is never "done".

Its going to be fashioned after this guys design. My trailer is longer and wider so there will be fundamental differences, but you get the idea. I purchased his plans which are simply guidelines rather than detailed diagrams. It gives me an idea on how to build it while giving me the ability to modify it to meet my needs.

That’s cool! I might lean that direction if i were building now.

Be sure you check out the design library links at the top of the page here too. Many ideas you can merge into your project.

Hi from Winchester, CA. I am new here too. I grew up in Riverside, but that was a loonnnggg time ago, when the town was still rural, a mile wide and 10 miles long.

I'm in Menifee so we're not so far away. Tomorrow my plywood arrives and the official build begins. I'll be periodically posting progress pictures and I'd appreciate suggestions, tips, advice and responses. Keep it light please this is my first build and I'm a sensitive guy.
