Back Again/Planning 2nd Build

Hey Gang!

Greetings from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, NC! I’m not new, but I’ve been away from the TNTTT Forum for awhile, so I thought I’d reintroduce myself.

Years ago, with significant assistance from folks here, including a couple who came and helped me hammer nails, I built the Weekender for 5, which was a 5x8 Camper that could hold the wife and I and 3 young kids. What fun! The building and the camping!

But, the kids are grown now, and I sold that camper awhile back to another family, I’m itching to start a new build. This time, my thoughts are something smaller and simpler, along the lines of the generic Benroy, probably on an HF 4x8 trailer.

So, hello again!

Welcome back!
Sadly, in 2021 - it's "hunt" first and then build a camper time. With material costs so high now, we will all have to hunt for a way to build our camper without breaking the proverbial piggy bank. I am afraid that higher fuel prices will be sticking around, too. If I build again, it will be on another Harbor Freight 4x8 trailer. I need one anyway, to haul stuff.
I saw this picture on the HF builders reviews page, I will call it a hobo camper-- I don't know if the builder was a member here or not. After the code enforcement fiasco with my last build, smaller will be the way to go, so I can hide it behind my 6 ft privacy fence or get it in the garage without letting most of the air out of the tires.
