Not New, Back and Better Than Ever Before!

Postby Alfred » Sat Jan 29, 2022 1:45 pm

Hi Y’all,

It’s AL in Asheville, NC! Several years ago, a much younger me built the Weekender for Family of 5, that had the sliding bunk for the kids.

Well, the kids are all growed. Fool that I am, during a period in-between owned houses a few years ago, rather than store it outside in an rented apartment setting, I sold it.

And, fool that I am, today I bought a 4x10 trailer, to build another one. My poor wife asks, “Why can’t you just whore around, gamble, and drink whiskey, like NORMAL men?”

Well, I do enjoy a wee dram of whiskey here and there…

Anyway, I will start a new build thread. This one I want to make a simple Vardo type camper. I just wanted to say ‘Hi!’

How we built a 5x8 camper for a family of 5, using a utility trailer with an incorporated bunk bed for the kids.
From plain trailer to campground!

Welcome back!
Your camper was one of the best I have seen.
I am back too, after almost 2 weeks in the hospital and long recuperation from an accident on Aug 24th that broke my neck and back in 5 places, 3 broken ribs, broken sternum, fingers, toes,. I thought my fall off a ladder had just stoved me up a bit- what an understatement.
I am turning on my build journal tonight.
