Don, hooked up TV and prompted to perform air scan. TV scans app. 130 rf channels and only finds 5. 3 are badly pixelated and 2 are in Española. No speekie.

CT is in driveway. All connections are tight and double checked. Antenna is temporarily screwed into a 2x8 and setting on top of CT midway from AC and back of CT.

Could this Antenna be bad?

All other functions are AWESOME. Pics of all when done. Thanks

Did you scan digital channels and is power applied to the circuit card?

Note this is a digital antenna and RF signals don't work well with it. All the stations have digital transmissions.

hmmmm  not good maybe.

I know the TV prompted me to perform air scan. And it did it for RF channels. I don't know if the TV is capable of receiving digital channels.

That is the problem not the Antenna.

I will investigate specs of TV momentarily. Get back to you soon.

I don't think they make Tv's anymore that are not digital. It should scan both or give you option to scan either.

Do not need to do that. No way to hook up antenna to HDMI?

I only saw one male 7/16 spot for RF cable input. From there to exterior antenna. That's it. Now co workers say they both had to have a antenna cable that had a 7/16 hook up to antenna and an HDMI connector to TV. So either an HDMI adapter on the TV side or a new cable that's has one???

They have dropped home cable and are basically doing just what I am doing and they ran into the same thing they say. They say that when you plug in the HDMI cable/antenna it THEN prompts you to scan Digitaly

Do you have the preamp Installed and powered? It looks like a wall plate and had a small circuit card on the back side.

That USB connector just provides power. Those antennas are active and require power. USB probably providing 5v. That is why digital only works when that is plugged in.

Did you connect the preamp as I mentioned? That preamp provided the power to the antenna through the same coax on the signal lead. It does not work without it. Youd know if you installed it. The antenna does not go directly to the TV, it goes through the preamp wall plate which must also have 12vdc applied for power.

yes they both still had to hook up the coaxial cable. You are of course right

I did not hook up a pre amp and don't know what it is. The only other hardware provided was the AC adapter. You know small black box like with AC MALE PLUG on one end and small female connector to TV. I did not utilize this yet. Other than that there seemed to be no other connections to be made or plugged in.

Ok.. makes more sense. Something is missing from the box. I'll need to look in that cabinet tonight when I get home. That should have been in the box.

Ok I know you are busy @work. Sorry

This is what you mean. I double checked the items that where supposed to be supplied and they all are there. Unless the AC power supply is involved but I don't think so.

It looks like that antenna power supply is provided with the antennas now as in this one.?? I think so. No wonder the price was so good on the TV.

Will further investigate.

You have enough on your plate Don, don't kill your self for me. Vogel SP in 72 hours or so!
