De Nada. I can't really take the credit here, The Canadians claim Mr. Robertson as their own. I gotta give em that one. Eh?

McDave

And Geddy.

Just to show that I'm workin' on it...
I've coated the underside of most of my floor panels with spar varnish, and plan to glue them down this weekend.
No more creaking, I hope.
I also made a liner/drip pan out of cellular PVC board for my AC cabinet.

There's a barb fitting at the bottom for a drain hose to attach to.
It just needs foam board baffles once everything is installed.
I'm not going outside until the temperature is above my age.

Did you say you are a cabinet maker by trade? I hope so, cuz otherwise I think you may have missed your callin'..
Ya just whooped that out all modular and ready to fit right in there. Very, very nice. It's work like this that could send Hank right over the edge. He needs a shop in the worst way..... just kidding..... kinda.

Where are you guys getting the access doors from? I am ready to install my little AC unit to stick out the side of my trailer using a sliding platform on top of a cabinet.

If you just need a RV cargo door go on ebay and then you can get more specific about size shape color etc.. Karebru looks to be using RV refrigerator vents. I have seen some that the condenser just had a vented cover but the AC was stationary.
here is a link.
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R ... s&_sacat=0

And one for vents.

God bless our troops, past, present, and future.
I hope everyone is having an enjoyable and safe holiday weekend.
And my thoughts go to the people in Maryland who experienced the flooding,
and to those in the Florida panhandle and the surrounding areas dealing with Alberto right now.
May you suffer no more than having a messy yard to clean up.

Progress Report:
My build has officially gone from tear-apart mode, to making-a-camper mode. The floor plan has evolved a little, but I expected it would. :)

Alberto passed by us in the Gulf yesterday, but I managed to get stuff done between the wind and the squalls that we've been having all weekend.
My floor panels are coated with a heavy coat of spar urethane on the underside, and screwed back down with sub floor adhesive... No more creaking! 8)

Today, I finished framing in for my windows and AC vents.

Image

It ain't pretty, but it all gets covered anyway.

Image

AC box and a window frame temporarily in place...

Image

I still need to make radiused corner blocks for the windows. The vent corners are almost square.
There is a good sized area around the AC that didn't adhere well when they glued the skin on.
I was trying different ways to brace it from the outside for re-gluing, but nothing was working, and the wind wasn't helping.
Then I realized... If I cut my holes first, I can use clamps through the openings and wide boards to get everything nice and flat. :duh:
That's the plan, anyway.

Thanks for looking.

Looking good so far! Nice AC install design!

Glad to see Alberto will not be a big wind event, but the rain can be bad enough. I am in Dallas right now and drove I10 through the Florida panhandle Friday afternoon to Baton Rouge, LA before going North on I49. Folks were already getting gas all stored up. Pump lines were longer than usual and I saw quite a few filling 5 gal cans.

I will need to get all my Hurricane supplies ready for the summer also. May be a busy year. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. :-)

Yep.
Took the eyewall of Irma right up the driveway as a borderline 2-3.
And I learned not to ask, "What are the odds?" a long time ago.

Yeah, that's crazy. I'll take the 8 months of winter. Although this year we had so much snow the rivers are past flood stage as we speak. The 2 rivers within a mile of me are forecast to peak about 18" higher than the all time record Friday PM. But there are huge dykes and we are ten feet higher than that anyway. But still, you never know for sure... Probably better make a plan to empty the basement and move stuff to the attic if it gets too much worse. That beautiful bottom land around the rivers wont be of much use for the cattle for a long while, but everything is lush and green so there will be plenty elsewhere. After last years fires it is nice to have a little moisture.

Nope... I don't do cold.
Spent my first fifteen years in it, and ten of those were spent longing to be right here where I've been for the past forty five. 8)

I've been ordering things, a few at a time, for the trailer. Sinks, tanks, lights... etc.
The wife was off today, and she sent me this picture.

Image

Most of it came all at once today... Daddy's Baby Sadie gave it all the sniff of approval.

My replacement refrigerator came too... It's also banged up like the first. (Really? ) :NC
But the door is good, and that's all that's gonna show.
It's plugged in and getting cold, so I'm good with it.

It's like Christmas, I tell ya!
