Soaking in the springs will bring down the core temps quickly.

Don I will call you when I get off work. Around 630-7. Late night for me.

Complications. All the sites that you can reserve are booked. The others are walk in only. There is no telling if we could get sites next to each other unless we pulled in together. Last week they were totally booked by Friday afternoon. Chit. So much regulation and rules and crap. If we cant camp near each other I would not stay there. They said no you can not save a site for a few hours for a friend. And you must set up upon arrival on your site and your site only. :x
They are making me hotter than 96 degrees at this point! Think about it. I WILL stay in the forest to avoid this BS. I will be loading up tonight so we will decide when I call you. Ok?

I HATE A CROWD ANYWAY. Talk to you soon.

Take there reservations and shove it.

Hey,
You guys are awesome. And you take your recreatin' pretty damn serious. But just so's you don't take yourself's too serious, the temp @ 0700 today was 28f. That's probably about normal, but the dark and fog made it feel really cold. Then I remembered the 2 month stretch at -35f and worse, and I felt much better. Fired up the Indian, leathered up and rode to the city limits, nearly1.5 miles, at the speed limit 25mph, all the way. Pulled over for a smoke and rode home, freezing! Longest 3 miles ever! But seriously, the fog was really thick and the deer were everywhere. Nobody wins in a Deer vs Scooter scenario.
But ya, I'll bet 96f in the swamp ain't real comfortable, lessen you be a gator... So, just remember to drink, a lot. And put some water in there, too.

just sayin'

Hey Don, hope you are not too sore. Had a blast. Let me know when the bike is running for a local ride at least.

Saw this on Fox News today.

CREEPY MESSAGE

Read it.

What was the name. Lake in the woods, Lake in the Forest?
Thanks.

Thanks Tommy! Nothing some Ibuprofin can't handle. Those trees just need to stay out of the way when I lose control. :-)

The campground is Lake in the Forest. They are $40.00 a night now, which I think is a bit steep. They obviously raised rates since I have been there last time.

I went a saw that story on on Fox... Seemed a bit hoaky to me. A story from Facebook with some fictitious still pictures and no references.... I am surprised Fox would even make a story out of that. Sounds like a made up a story.

I'll start working on the bike this weekend.. I have a few things to catch up on first.. I will be going to Texas for a week just before Memorial Day to see my new grandson who is due for delivery in two weeks, but it might be interesting to take a ride out to SE and go riding. I've not been out there in over a year. They have had a lot of fires recently according the the SE Website and I know those fire lines they plow in are great single track because they are too narrow for 4 wheelers. :-)

Cell Phone Booster Report and Atwood 93105 Adjustable Thermo

Had a great weekend camping in the CTC. Riding was a different story... let's just say I took a few "tree bark and soil samples" on Saturday afternoon which prematurely ended the riding day.

Only one pic to show the Cell Phone Booster antenna in position.. otherwise, they all look the same each time. I have a report on the Cell Phone Booster and the Atwood 93105 Adjustable Electronic Thermostat I put on the Hotwater Heater and also a use report in the hottest weather I've used the CTC in so far. (low to mid 90's in day and high 60's to low 70's at night after 9PM)

The antenna is on the rear by the ladder and disappears into the tree line.. The "Sure Call" Booster worked as expected for data (4G LTE especially well). With no signal inside the trailer and barely enough to connect outside, the booster provided enough gain for me to stream movies on Netflix and watch YouTube videos. The voice boost was lacking. I am not sure why yet. I had some intermittent signal outside, with none inside and I was expecting that to boost also. I am hoping that was a noise/gain issue and not a defect. Voice is over CDMA or 2G so the 4G LTE would not have helped in that case. Sprint does not have voice over LTE yet.. I am very happy so far, but need to test the regular voice cell phone signal more to be sure all is well.

The Atwood 93105 Adjustable Electronic Thermostat also worked great after I fixed the water heater ignition problem I mentioned in a previous post. It was the circuit card that got flamed during the meltdown (the replacement worked). I was able to adjust my gas hot water heater temperature low enough where it will not scald with no cold water mixing. It is still hot, but no too hot. I wanted it as hot as possible to increase the hot water capacity via cold water mixing, but not hot enough to scald if the shower mix is bumped during use (which I seem to do often) . I was able to take decent showers with water running continuously without running out of hot water. The tank also recovers in 15 minutes. Very nice. :-) There is still one more lower setting I could go to, so I'd give this a thumbs up. It is also mentionable that adjusting the water temp for the shower when it is first turned on is easier without the extreme temperatures.

The CTC worked really well in the hot weather. In ~92 degree weather, the AC would pull the inside down to the high 70's within 20 minutes and rid the air of excess humidity. The Maxair fan worked great overnight and on the #2 setting , pulled a breeze over the loft bed when I closed all the windows except the loft windows. No mater how hot it is during the days, the nights in the forest will ussually drop into the 70's (and high 60's last weekend). No AC needed overnight for sleeping. All said, I ran the Honda 2000 for about 4 to 5 hours in the late afternoon and early evening to cool off . My freezer also made ice cubes and I had Ice cream this time as well... Gotta love that. All the comforts of home in a tight package. :-)

Most notable was that even though I did not have full sun on the collectors all day due to shade from nearby trees, the solar charge was enough to maintain the 345aH of batteries with all the electric lights, electronics, and etc. I typically will use to include the fridge. I also went home with over 20 gallons of fresh water with little to no water conservation going on and decent daily showers... After getting everything situated and the kinks worked out, this CTC is becoming a worthy "extended stay" boon docker. I can't wait to go for longer periods of time.

Thank you

I've been using full forum since my TapTalk will not work. On the full forum I can't see what I'm typing, and often no pics with people's posts. On Tap talk I noticed my user name changed, they gave me a new password. But app still will not open forums. Or if it does I "do not have permission to post".They respond with asking me to send them links. I have for two weeks. Today I'm not signed in to Tap Talk, so I sign in with their "new password" error incorrect password. Used my old and I'm signed in but forums will not open. I received email that you posted, and clicking on the email I was able to read your reply on TapTalk. But "no permission to post". And I paid to have taptalk ad free and when/if it opens a forum I see ads :x

That is one super rig you've built there. Really something to be proud of.
Beautiful inside and out.
Well done my friend.

I have had geology and botany hobbies myself, and taking samples is tougher than it sounds. Especially at this stage of my career. But, you'll know earned it the next morning. ..... ;) .......

Shiny side up ......

In the spirit of never being done with a build, I have a few fit and finish projects for this weekend. Two will be a significant improvements for solar/electrical and the other will be for finish/ trim inside. The electrical should boost solar capacity by 30% and if successful, will make an already quiet Honda, almost undetectable from about 15 feet away and rain proof it. Also going to scuff proof lower walls and cover rear door spring and fix the drawer face I damaged last weekend (long story, but I turned off the electrical accidentally and ice melted and leaked onto the drawer and made wood swell). More pics later. These are the raw materiels. :-)

Always something to do!! seems like every time we would come home from a trip with the teardrop, we would re-evaluate everything and tweak something!! I think that adds even more fun to it... rather then just backing up an RV and not looking at it til the next trip!
