It's hard to steal a trailer with no wheels thats sitting on jack stands. Not as pleasant to the eyes as far as my neighbors are concerned but I could care less. I have that same lock over the ball of mine, with a big enough breaker bar that thing will break instantly since the yellow part of it is pretty much pot metal.

I gotta get me one of those helpers. But yes, like Hank said, "Later in his life someone will nug another and say "he knows stuff". and that will be a good thing." You're doin' it right. ... ...

Here is what I use on my tire and axle: Pewag security chain and 60mm shackel guard pad lock. You need the larger triangle holes in your tire rim though.

It is a seriously heavy chain. Cable, no matter how thick, can be cut with a pair of bolt cutters or even dike cutters. A strand or two at a time will do it fairly quickly.
