I can testify to the ability of dead air space helping to insulate. When I had my
Travel Trailer I could tell (well my feet could), the difference after I enclosed
the bottom (skirting), for the winter. The same can be said for the coroplast* that
several RV companies use to enclose the bottoms of their units. Attached to the
frame with 1/4" self tapping bolt head screws with washers they work very well.
Good rugs also help with this method.
