I've camped at Atlatl Rock campground a couple of times before. If that's where you will be, I'll find you there. I'm hoping to be in camp by 4 or 5 on Saturday afternoon.

Yes thats where we will be I'll be in a f150 bringing my big camper this trip but I'll be looking for you and your wife. You'll see the rest off us just look for the group having the most fun or least the ones with best food this group knows how to cook up some good food. I got a surprise dessert for all the ladys. Will save you an your wife some food so be ready to eat when you get there.

Thanks to BC Toys and the Las Vegas Dutch Oven group, we had a fantastic weekend camping at the Atlatl campground in Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada. What a gorgeous place to camp and meet new friends!



We were the last to arrive, but we were able to share a campsite with Sallie and her daughter in their nice teardrop. Love these small trailers! We could have put another one between us!



We took the scenic route on the way out, and couldn't resis a couple of photo ops on the way.





The trailer worked great, towing nicely, hauling all the gear (including the new dutch oven and table)

And the weather was perfecto!

Gil it was great to meet you and Willa. We had a great time camping and cooking with you this weekend. Glad you got to come down here. Can't wait to camp with you'll agian.

We moved out of the cold snowy Northwest two years ago, and I really don't miss the weather a bit. "Nice place to visit, but wouldn't want to move back there!"

Yes, it was a great time. Camping in mid February in a sunny 70 degrees is a real joy!

If you're into archery, the Atlatl was the weapon that tamed the ancient Americas. No more saber tooth tigers. Atlatl is an Aztec word for "spear sling." (Many of the Great Basin Indians spoke a similar language to Aztec, especially the Utes and Piutes from your region.)

Perhaps some archeologist found the remnants of one there in one of those caves (in your photos).

I was down at Valley of Fire last July. The visitor Center is a must see in regards to Native Cultures. The short walk into the valley of the petroglyphs is also a must. I was fascinated by the entire park.

Yup, we are going to make another trip down this month and check it out again. This will be our 5th trip into the Park. It's a great place to go.

Are you coming to camp and do a little off roading I will bring out the cargo and jeep let me have a date just not 2-25 thru 2-27

I'll be sure to let you know. The actual date is in the air now, dependant on Willa's schedule. She needs a couple of days off to make it a relaxed trip, and two days in a row are rare for her. Stay tuned!
