I figured now is a good time to do this, while its hot. Makes a nice vent.
4" deck plate .

Drilled 4.5" hole.

Removed an inch of insulation and cut a strip of galvanized sheet.

The strip was long enough it wrapped around twice.

That deck plate looks nice!

Do you pop in the screen from the inside?

Can you leave the screen in when the hole is closed up with the plate?

Probably could put it in from the inside. I can screw the lid in from the inside.
It would probably need to be cut down to fit both lid/screen.

I had a big piece of diamond plate left over from the teardrop and made the main heat shield. Just leaning up against the door.

I bought a air mini saw for cutting it down but it was way too slow.
Sawzall did it cleanly and quickly.

Since all the storms coming through ive been taking timelapses hoping to get another lightning shot .

Screen arrived today.
Fits perfectly. Should work out great at the saltflats (speedweek).

Forgot to mention they come in white, black, brown colors.

Got back from Bonneville. Great day on the salt.
It was dry and hard, so didnt stick to the tires much. Thanks to those big mudflaps I made, kept it off the trailer.
Both recieved a good washing.

The sign was stolen weeks ago. Who does that ?
New sign installed friday.

It was nice having the trailer, provided much needed shade with the ez-up .ImageImage

I left about 5:30pm. Stopped at Knolls and camped for the night.
Got some really good star pics.

Thanks.

Just got back from Fish lake.
This is how the trip (testing) went.
Hankaye.

Hit the road at 6am. Truck felt great towing-wise. Jumped on I-15 SB and was getting up over "point of the mtn" with a strong headwind, kicked it down a gear and heard a pop, coolant sprayed the windshield.
Pulled over and saw the upper coolant hose/radiator cap broken.
Called AAA, 45 mins later its being towed home.
So much for waking up early.
Luckily we still was close to home.
My dad picked up the trailer with his motorhome.

Ok. Plan B.
Back home.
Swap our gear over to the Jeep. Had my dad haul the trailer (cause 8% grades) and made our way to camp.

I towed the trailer home since its all downhill.
