6x12 Loadrunner Cargo Conversion - Keeping It Simple

Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

Postby webforage » Wed Sep 15, 2010 8:32 pm

The mosquito netting I added worked well while camping over Labor Day weekend. It was nice to open up the back ramp and have the fresh air and view. I bought the netting on Amazon for $13. It is for a single garage door, has metal poles sewn into the bottom, is parted in the middle for access, and has a magnet to keep it closed. I used Velcro to attach it to the ceiling.

I also make a screen for the side door. I bought some fiberglass window screen and had a curtain rod and bracket lying around that I attached over the door.

Simple but not elegant. I’m wanting something better.

This might help with the side door screen.

Looks pretty nice to me! I like your work. :applause:

All you need is headliner. Here's the easy way to do it:

1) Lathe running front to back put in with self-taping screws on the ceiling, including the curves, spaced about 3 inches apart (tighter spacing on the curve).
2) Mylar bubble wrap insulation laid in above it.
3) Fabric-backed sheet vinyl wallpaper (in a roll) attached with finishing washers and screws into the lathe. You could also use light weight automobile carpet (in a roll). Not kidding, you can even spray paint the carpet the color that you want.
4) Tuck it in behind your crown molding with a few dabs of Liquid Nails caulking.

Eight to ten hours to do it.

For what it's worth.

Prem :D

Thanks for sharing the link. This size of screen is what I am looking for. I had not been able to find one this size.

No problem, I got 2 for myself. Didn't put them up yet but at that price I couldn't go wrong.

I added a little float charger that I picked up at Harbor Freight. They keep putting them on sale for $4 to $7. Seems to work to maintain the battery. I use a 10 amp charger to recharge the battery after getting back from camping. The float charger is just to maintain the battery.

I added the screen to the side door today. I had to modified it a little due to the size but it come out nice and I think will work really well. Webforage, did you order the screen for yours yet? Let me know how it works out for you.
