OK, now you have me thinking about just lining our water closet, putting a drain in the floor and a shower head on the wall. Need to keep these pictures away from my lovely spousal unit until I decide direction. :MLAS

Professorkx, there was originally a wall there with little opening, needed more space for comfort and porta pottie. 8)

That is unique. Is that just a one piece of plastic for the floor? Is it flat or slanted towards the drain. I will be a anxious to see your results.

This also gives me an idea. I planned on putting a purchased system on a foam core wall. I could consider copying your design and placing all inside the core wall. The only reason for the core wall idea is for weight savings (use 1/4 plywood on outsides and 3/4" foam for the inside) so swapping foam for pipe has no negative structural impact.

Keep the ideas coming. You may solve many of my issues.

Bob, it is one piece of shower plastic in the full v-nose.

I am looking into converting some of the lights into 12 volt from 110. Help from a neighbor (electrician).

It has been a while since I posted on this thread for many reasons, mostly related to the holidays, injuries and the attempt to get in some last minute hunting trips before the season ended.

I thought I would show in these photos below taken during my pre-thanksgiving hunt camp stay showing how I used my CT with very little done to it. This week and a half in the woods did give me the chance to do a pre-mod trip and to learn more about what I really want to do with the trailer. All I had done was to insulate the walls and floor and add black plastic film over the insulation as temporary wall covering.

This trip was a good thing. I did learn more about how I need to rethink many of my build plans and mostly, the need for me to work on simplifying what I would take with me and what I would add to the trailer. This is the same message that I have heard from many members of this forum regarding doing a shake down camp trip.

These photos are from the George Washington National Forest in western Virginia. The temps ranged from 40-50 degrees F at the beginning of the trip to 8 degrees F on the last day. It was so cold at the end, that our 5 gal water jug froze almost solid.

Here is an end shot of the CT during the trip. I was very disorganized and had way too much stuff.

This shot just gives an outside shot of the camp area from one end.

I am working my way around the site to show how the CT figured into things. The CT is under the green tarp.

And the campfire area awaited us.

Now I need to order my wires so I can start that process.

I believe I am ready to start more work on my CT. I had a steroid shot in my lower back last week now feel like I can start working again. I have all the wire I and just need to run into Lowe's for the ceiling insulation.

But this cold spell is now holding me back. I cannot get the trailer into the garage because of about 4" after I use all sorts of tricks to lower the trailer. And I believe I sure could get a lot done in an warmer environment.

Then I got this thought yesterday. If I could remove the complete Dexter Torsion axle assembly, I could get the lowered trailer into the garage. Four bolts is all I need to remove (plus electric brake wires). And with some HF wheel dollies, I could make a system to move it about in the garage.

I know TD builders are removing axles without a lot of trouble, and I think I recall a CT builder removing his axle so he could move it to either an over or under the spring mounting.

I am asking for any inputs which point out something ( other then being very careful) that says I should not try this.

lrrowe, Howdy;

There was one fella awhile back that made some small metal wheels out of, I don't know,
perhaps 1/2" thick metal, that were about an inch or 2 wider than the hubs and rolled
his in and out of his garage that way. You could also, maybe buy some smaller rims that
match the bolt pattern and use them ... just some thoughts.

Hank,
I measured both options and I think I am still inches too high.
Thanks.

Bob

I told you for 10 grand I'll come out there with my 60,000 volt
lithium jack hammer, bust out 12" deep and you can park
without hassle in your garage, they do that in San Francisco all the time .

PS. I just drained 65 amps from my 100 ah " fire hazardous " 4 year old , dirt cheap lithium battery and I'm still at 12.91 volts , my blowers will burn out before battery goes dead.

I just can't stand it, I'm switching back to Flooded T105
where I can watch the volts drop like a rock

You see the trailers being move on flat bed semi-trucks I believe there is a way to pin the dexter axle in a compressed position that would allow you to cause it to squat (or use a compression strap). Also you could deflate the tires to get it in just make sure to move only front and back slow and easy so as not to pop the tires off the bead (air down should get you at least 2 to 3 inches of drop). Finally you could remove the tires and set the trailer down on dollies (under axle or the frame) and move it around.

Jerry, sorry, but I cannot let you within a 100 feet of my garage floor with that jackhammer. See what I would be missing by not being able to watch my T105's discharge?

Tomb1269,
With the ties/wheels removed, there is still a clearance issue. This is what I get from ordering my CT with both 6" more in height and with -22.5 degrees of angle with the torsion arm (picked up another 2" in ground clearance). That, plus my Fantastic Fan addition is giving me the clearance problem. The dolly idea is what I am working on and if the torsion arm were able to be tied in the up position, then that could work. But I saw no way to do that when I looked yesterday. I will remove one tire and see if I can find a way to do it.

From this earlier photo I took, this is what I am up against. No clear way to hold torsion arm up.

Thanks for the ideas.
Bob

Ok Bob

Here is my final advice, remove your garage door, remover door opener,
remove the 12" header & siding covering the header,
park trailer in the garage & reinstall removed parts in reverse order.

Follow same procedure each time you move trailer into or out of garage.
