Mcdave, we must be brothers separated at birth. I am 50% Irish too. Spot on. :)
I never thought having a good job would be a curse. I am so tired of Florida and have always talked about moving to Colorado or the Mid-west. I've lived in Arizona and vacationed in Breckinridge, Vail area in August to Hike and Mountain Bike. We are not rich or even well off and that was a once in a life time thing it seems. Anyway, at 54 and needing to work of course, how can one just let it all go and just do IT. God I think about it every hot sticky unbearably humid wet rainy day June through November. We work for the V.A and before this we went through the hospital grinder. Odd hours. Work you like a dog and kick you to the curb when you cant take it any more. I would sell everything today and make that move Mcdave if only I had the Money and Job. Im a slave and feel stuck here in Florida.
Thank you brother and keep telling it like it is. Even if it stings a bit. To the Irish

Tommy, Where are you at in Florida? I am in Palm Bay myself. I see you ride KTM's also from your earlier pics. I am in the middle of my second CTC Toy hauler conversion.

This one is going to be a little more elaborate that the first, but the main goal is to carry my KTM-450EXC and my Vulcan Cruiser together. I am prepared for off-road or the street.

I camp and ride a lot in Ocala. I hope to make the maiden voyage with the build I'm working on now sometime in late July.

Flyboy...this is 7 miles from my house. Do you recognize it? You should! A good friend owns the property that the structure is on. I ride out from there when its not under water. I love camping and riding in Delancey in the cooler months. They can get so stupidly drunk and loud up there on the weekends so I go like Wednesday through Sat morning and you have it all to your self mostly. I do CCW for bears and bad people when I'm up there. I bring my quad for firewood runs as you can see I like a big fire. But drunk strangers flock to it like moths to light. My KTM 250 XCW-W is tagged so I can ride all the stuff in Ocala. Did FTR for a bit. Do you ride the dirt much flyboy...maybe Ive run in to you behind the airport?

One last Ocala pic cause this is what the escape pod is all about. Came out at the Rodman Reservoir Trail Head. Started at the camp site. Delancey west. When its groomed fresh its awesome. 2 way traffic is dangerous. Deep sand...just lean back and pin it. Hog Valley Saloon opens at noon! Just a destination on the trails.
I've gone solo many times but a small group of trusted friends is better. flyboy see you on the trail or in camp or both maybe.

It really gets dark in Ocala. Cold and dark....then the drunken freaks appear at the peripheral edge of fire light. That's when you pull your glock close and wish maybe you where not alone! :frightened: HAhahaa. Anyone been there before? Boondockin, man It can be scary sometimes. I fear someone may lock me in sometime and light the trailer on fire with me in it while I sleep. Some very scary folks up there every now and then. Banjo scary. Rare but be aware.

Hey Tommy,
I can't tell ya what going on with the pics, I can just barely type and know ZERO about computers. That's why I married a younger woman! Well that, and you know.....
But hey, Your rig looks like works great for you. Looks like a really cool place, too.
So, maybe I'll grab my banjo and head yer way. I am a Son of the South and SCV, just on the Northern Front these days.
But come October, you know what tune I'll be whistling,...."Oh I wish I was in Dixie....."
;)

Well don't just show up in the middle of the night strumming that banjo cause I may come out locked and loaded  APP. 3 miles north of Salt Springs. Turn left on to forest road 66 from state road 19. 3-4 miles west. Second entrance is the west side for off roaders. See you in November. Bring the banjo! and C.T. Mostly a man trip. Quads or dirt-bikes. Beer and what ever. What happens at Delancey stays at Delancey. Younger unescorted woman are welcome unless my wife reads this. Kidding.

Sorry I am way off track and will get back on topic.

That looks like about anyplace in central Florida! LOL. I've camped in Delancey a few times. Seems like I had the place to myself most of the time. I typically will camp in Big Scrub or Alexander Springs; however. My KTM-450EXC is tagged also so I can ride wherever I want pretty much. I always have my CCW loaded and on me whenever I am in Ocala. I don't worry about the bears... its the drunks and folks fleeing the law that hide in that forest. Usually, that is why I stay in camp grounds with hosts.

I ride dirt whenever I get the chance. Locally when I ride, I ride the compound in Palm Bay or I go out to Holopaw. I own a few acres of land in a place called Suburban Estates which is is about ~12,000 acres. Landowners have a key to the gate. It is a free for all out there. I only go in daylight hours and never camp. Worse than Ocala for drunks with guns.

When I get my CTC built maybe we can do some boon docking and camping and of course some riding! The fall would be a great time!

Here is a pic of the CTC I sold about two months ago. I am parked at Big Scrub. Not a soul there but me and the campground host.

What Internet Browser do you use? Chrome, IE, ? Sometime there is an issue with the what the Browser and Photobucket redirect.

Do you just have an issue viewing photo's when people are using Photobucket as the link?

Flyboy..you passed the sniff test  You are local for sure! I to own land in surban estates. Have not been there in a few years. Just like you said. Out past the drunk tree is the better ridding but its the wetter side for sure. Used to like to ride the top of those burms in the back and fly through those few sweepers and head for the drunk tree where there was better riding but wetter for sure. The hunters can get aggressive too.
That spot is behind the Habitat golf course and valkaria airport. Between grant and valkaria road. we have a 12-15 mile single track that will kick your butt. I have not been in there for a year now due to double rotator cuff surgery and a ruptured bicep. Then it went underwater and remains so but if it doesn't rain for a week or two it might be ok. The entrance was 3-4 feet under water that ran for 30 yards or so a few weeks ago and I will not take my truck through there. The end of Ponderosa rd. A gate with combo. I do not know if it is still the same as a year ago. I would ride any time but this heat almost killed me more then once. I used to ride by 8am and be done by 11 and still feel sick from the heat. I need to finish the trailer ASAP but might ride the compound. I do have a friend who still goes out there. young buck on a yz250. too fast foe me. Cops threw me out of there about 4-5 years ago. Said I could leave in the back of his squad car or turn around and leave. Is it OK to ride there now?

One very important question for you flyboy since your are very local.
Black Tank dumping after Ocala. As best as I can Google, the most convenient place to dump would be in Astor just before the draw bridge. 5 Bucks to fill water tanks and dump black tank. What do you know please.
Thanks
