Cargo Trailer Insulation

Postby sladezero » Thu Sep 18, 2008 8:33 pm

Hey All,

My cargo trailer's roof is a single layer of aluminum and that is all.
This causes issues when wind blows and when it rains. The noise is too much to bare. I am looking to add some thin wood and insulation to help with the temps and with noise dissipation. However, I am curious what insulation types everyone has used in the past. I would prefer to use an insulation type that is flame retardent since I might be running wires for power later on.

Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Can't say if it's flame retardent or not but I just got 1 inch blue foam sheets from Lowes, It fit the depth perfectly and just covered with luan. Since mine is just a hunting trailer I was just planning on paint.

Hey there,

I agree. I looked at Lowes today and the blue foam boards are inexpensive.
I also looked at the paneling, lumber, and screws. I think for ~$60 I can
insulate the roof on my trailer I think this will help with the temps and outside sound. Thank you again for the recommendations.
