Recirculating Toilet

Hello everyone, this is only my second post as I just joined.

We are in the process of converting a Pace 8x20 trailer into our toy hauler. I will take and post some pics later. We bought the unit used, and the previous owner had started the conversion by adding outlets, insulated walls, two light fixtures on the cieling and a front area kitchen.

We have already added a full size bed w/storage underneath, bathroom (toilet only), closet, AC, plus we redid the kitchen area by adding shelving, a microwave, two burner hot plate, table w/2 chairs and we removed the fridge (using an ice chest instead). I also added an aluminum toolbox in the hitch area to store items and the battery.

I will add a window later and finish up the trim, paint...

What I wanted to say here is that we are using a Recirculating Toilet that runs off a 12v battery. It is an AquaMagic style that hold up to 7 gallons of waste before needing dumping. I cut a hole in the floor to run the drain pipe. The pipe from the toilet is attached to a standard RV sewer hose that lives in a metal box I mounted under the rig. When we need to dump, all I have to do is open the metal box and pull out the hose. Quick and easy. No attaching of the hose to the toilet since it stays attached (will need to replace it from time to time as it wears out/gets brittle with age).

Again, hello and I will post pictures soon. And I forgot to say, we ride a Suzuki Burgman 650 Scooter that also fits in the rig.

Take care, Del

I am not a carpenter!! Now that I have confessed, here are the pics of our Pace 20ft conversion. I still need to add trim to all corners, paint just about every surface you see, and build a small table/shelf area next to the closet for our TV and other items. I am also going to build a small drawer under the microwave to house our tableware.

That first pic was what we sold to buy this unit and convert it. 1987 Avion, 35ft.

Here is the current cargo/toy hauler from the rear ramp area. You can see the full size bed. Our scooter fits on the right side for traveling.

The next series of pics show the interior of the Pace conversion. Closet area is 3ft wide with four drawers. Around 10" of long hanging space. Rest is short hanging. Two chairs are also stored in there.
Table is stored on the bed when the scooter is taken on trips.
We added all the baskets/shelves under the kitchen cabinets.
We took out the fridge. Area now has an ice chest instead.
Sorry the toilet area is sideways.

Looks like a nice conversion. I don't think the group is unfriendly -- just so big it is easy to get lost in the shuffle.
