Crazylegs, that is a nice setup. Are you planning on taking the trailer off road? I too have a 5x8 and use it as a base station. I pull it with my FJ.
I'm looking forward to following your progress. Good luck!

This will be a base camp rig, not an off-road rig. The main use for this trailer is to help accommodate my disability when I am camping with my boy and the scouts. We camp every month of the year and this will take the edge off those winter nights like this one last winter. Image

Yes, the step folds up. My family and I love to go to Moab Utah and do the tough rock crawling trails. I often drag my bumper on rocks. I would not want any kind of trailer on most of those trails.

Love the Jeep. Here's my Jeep on Steroids (aka. SCOUT II)

I hope to be using it as a tow vehicle soon....

The Deepest spot in Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes is 1,333 feet or about 222 fathoms. This profound depth could easily contain the entire 1,250' Empire State Building, even with a 50-foot-tall King Kong perched atop.

Thanks!

I have had this since  I  was in  high school but it sat at my dads for many years (long story). I brought it down here to Hoosier land two falls ago and am working to get the ole girl up and running. My buddy here in the Indiana chapter just bought a '78 and we went to the International Harvester Scout Nationals in Ohio last fall which I hope to do annually. I am still surprised how close it is in length to a CJ and thanks for the comp's.

Keep us posted on your build.....

What is the measurement of the interior floor length?

Do you mind sharing how much it cost you?

Thanks a lot- this looks a lot like what I'd like eventually, only I'd probably order it without the bat box and with insulation already done (like Gonefishin we live in a very rural area, have somewhat limited skilz and even more limited time, and my marriage + sanity is worth having as much done @ the factory as possible).

Do you have a bead on how much it weighs with the extra height?

LOVE the scout!!! My dad has one, and it is beginning to rust. He bought another scout body off of someone, and he just has not had the time to change it over. I sure hope one day he gets to. He's 78 now, and acts like a 55 year old. He bought the scout brand new when he worked for International in 77 :)
PS- also love all the dive references.....I'm a rescue diver!! :)
