tip out bunks

Has anyone attempted to put homemade tip out bunks on their trailer conversion? This is exactly what I would like in mine for when I bring the grandkids along.

Bought a 6x10 last year which gets a little crowded with 5 of us in there.

Any ideas? I'm interested in something like the camplite

There was another thread where they were discussing this, but I can't remember which thread They were talking about putting a sunken floor in the trailer to give themselves more room.

there wa one build where the rear wall was made to hinge at the bottom. Then a tent-like structure snapped in place for a patio. You could use that space for extra room as needed.

I think the biggest plus to using a cargo trailer is solid walls and no canvas to deal with. Its nice when you get not to have to let canvas air out if it got rained on during the trip..

Plus, you can air condition the cargo trailer. Very difficult if you have cut a hole in the trailer and added a tent...

Perhaps then, add a wall to the end with a door; Fold down; erect canvas for kids while maintaining A/C enclosure?

When we were kids (some time ago) we had our own "pup tent" , outside ...Real camping Much preferred that to being inside with the old folks ... snoring and all A simple solution ...

maybe if you post a pic of what you have to work with, you will get some suggestions. Perhaps some canvas bunks, dowels, and some easily removable supports. I'm picturing 2x4's with holes for the dowels, that can be attached at roof and floor three bunks made out of canvas. You could even leave the wall sides up when not in use by rolling, and velcro.. but I don't know if you have room for something like that.

Have you ever bought new canvas for a popup? Its very expensive. I think you could do it.. Just not sure it would be worth the trouble and expense. A larger conversion or just a tent for the kids would probably be a better option.
