help finding windows

Postby matcnc » Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:51 pm

I have tried with no avail http://teardroptrailerparts.com and even tried RV windows 12 on e-bay. My problem is the trim rings my walls are 1-1/2 inches thick I'm not sure what size trim rings I need. Could someone point me in the right direction? Hunting season is just around the corner I would really like to get my build underway.

thanks

Hello, not too computer savy, but if you scroll down to the topic of windows where to buy as Yoda topic, they have some good links that may be helpful, I actually ordered mines a few weeks ago from the place you mentioned, I think they have several different size trim rings. Also depending on the type of fit, you could go with the 1 1/4 trim rings if thats the largest they have and possibly use longer screws and some added insulation. Just brainstorming, hope that helps

I'm about 98% sure that link is where I got mine from also.. If so he can make any trim ring you want up to 5" thick if I remember right.. his standard is 1"

I'll try again maybe he didn't get my e-mail. I inquired about the size trim rings I needed.

Thanks for the help

Anybody ever check out the junkyards? Lots of Kustom Vans with all manner of windows sitting there ... They seem to hold up pretty well while the vans around them rusted away ... Just an idea ...

Some people do but I am inexperienced and I figure since old windows crack sometimes when being taken apart I figured it would be cheaper in the long run not having to buy new gaskets and such to just get new. We have several old trailer, house trailer, junk yards a few miles from here but you buy junk you get junk. ( Some cases anyway.) My 2 cents.

Have you turned on your computer? That is windows that run your computer. :D  Oh wait you meant windows to see in/out of on your trailer.

Sorry, I just had to and yes I can understand the frustration in me after this being of no help.
