thinking about making a trailer mine

Been lurking and havent seen anyone else do this so...

Wife and I like to camp in campgrounds by a lake and are tired of tents. I would like to know if anyone sees a reason I could not bring along a little fishing boat-say a 14' with a little outboard on a trailer and load it in the back of a cargo trailer so when we get to a site we could unload the boat and fold the bed down and stay like that. Then I could use the truck to get the boat to the lake for some fishing.

Thinking about a 16x7 double axle v nose trailer.

Think this would be doable?

thanks

I thought about building a roof rack for mine. It would be a pain to get a Jon boat up there but it would sure beat pulling a double..

If your going that big just spring for the 8.5' wide you'll be glad you did.

No reason why you could not do the boat idea.... FYI you may want a electric wench to load and unload your boat.

I would think moving the boat out then loading it on to the truck
unloading for fishing loading back on truck
then back in trailer would get old in a hurry.
Now we all here like the idea of using a cargo trailer
for the camping part moving the trailer well thats
up to you if you get tired of it you still have a camper.

If you plan to put the boat trailer inside the cargo trailer, the axle width of the boat trailer may be the show-stopper.....

the fishing boat will be on its own little trailer-so i could still use it locally to go fishing with

I agree, need to measure, measure and measure again as all will be bought with this in mind

Small boats loaded by hand would work nice in enclosed trailer. Thats the best thing about the cargo type is the duel purpose.

I have a cargo trailer that I am using every time we go camping. The camper trailer is very unique. We're looking for a trailer for our family. This is light enough for two people to slide in together with a small bed. This is very affordable as well, and extremely easy to set up.

Well the boat had been bought. picked up a tracker grizzly jon boat 14 footer-has a 25hp merc, 4cyl fuel injected with tilt. total width is 72" so I will have about 3" of room on the sides getting it into a 7' wide caargo trailer. The process has been started  Plan on getting a 7 x 16 with a v front on it. may have to modify the boat trailer tounqe a little but we shall see.

Well one thing I have not decided on is a ramp door or barn doors for the rear. The one thing I can't get my mind on is how to add a ac unit from home depot if I go with the rear ramp door.

Any one have a picture or two-Ive been doing some searching and havent found my answer.

Thanks
