Round 2 toy hauler

Our trailer http://www.mikenchell.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=683813&highlight=#683813 got hailed on in a storm last fall. We made out pretty good after the pay out/getting to keep it and then selling it. Surprisingly we sold our old trailer in 20 minutes of posting it on craigslist!

So on to round 2...

We spent countless hours online and in person trying to decide what to by and looking for the best value. Trailer prices are skyrocketing right now. One trailer we were looking at went up $2000 in 30 days $> so we finally pulled the trigger on a in stock model that will suit our needs vs exactly what we wanted. We didn't start out looking for aluminum but after looking decided it would be a good idea if we could swing it being the weight savings would most likely offset the weight of one of our bikes. A 7' wide trailer would have been easier to shed weight but it just looked so cramped compared to what we were use to. Were hoping to gain 1mpg while towing  Doubt it will happen but rolling lighter and with a wedge front it can't hurt.

Its an 8.5 x 23 aluminum trailer made by Neo mfg. Plans are to wire for 110 outlets and lighting, 12v system, stereo, insulate and finish the ceiling, install windows, add 1 set of bunks for now, flip down gaucho.

Here's some picks

Nice trailer! My personal $0.02 is that you can't go wrong with an aluminum trailer, as long as you weren't planning to weld anything to the frame as part of your conversion.....

Here's the overall plan for the trailer but it may take a while to get to this point.

We got some of it torn down for insulation and windows, once that is complete I can start on the bunks and cabinets.

Got some work done  Insulation done on one side and walls back up. Got the window in the nose in just need to make a spacer trim ring for it to finish that off. Wired up 2 outlets and got the hose ran for the gravity fed sink.

Worked some on Saturday on the rig. Got the rear cross frame stabilizer jacks installed No picks of that. Got the second window installed and a couple of little things not worth taking pictures of.

No turning back now...

My cheap harbor freight body saw makes easy work of cutting out the window. Much smoother finish then any jig saw I've ever tried to use cutting metal
