Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

8Ball beat me seems we all want everyone to be safe.

I too have seen those screens at walmart glad we have a tester please let us know how it works.

I know you know this already so don't take it the wrong way "a circuit breaker protects what is behind it not what is in front"

example everything before the campground's electric post is protected by the breakers in the post.

the cable from the post to the camper and the components that make up the WACO is protected by the breakers in the WACO.

if you replace one of the WACO 15 amp breakers with a 20 amp breaker the components in the WACO may or may not stand up to
the increased amp draw and burn up before the breaker trips.

worst case is something may catch fire while your asleep or off catching some fish, and we don't want that to happen.

This model is WF-8725P. I have the stated 30 amp main breaker and now one twenty amp breaker... it states a max of "three 20 amp "branch circuits"
I only have one line split from that 20 amp breaker... it's no more than what I've done wiring in other places.

I really think I had just maxed out what the system could handle causing those problems on the last trip and I've taken a couple corrective actions already.

I don't mind being a tester of that screen. so far I like it.

I also like that it's put up with Velcro and can be removed for loading and unloading so you don't get hung up at the door with your supplies and bulky items.
I did have to cut to length to fit the door and the height of my camper.
the "magic" closure magnets are simply put on the seam and I removed the ones that I cut off and replaced them spaced between lower magnets to ensure a tighter grip the length of my door. works for me so far.

Larry sounds like you have the electrical problem handled.

The walmart screen is a heck of a lot cheaper than some of those "toy-hauler" ones and should work just fine.

I really enjoy reading how resourceful the members are here.

Did some cleaning in the camper today. That wall mount kitchen stove fan is really kickng it for me.

This is an outdoor shot of the screen. I'm really liking how it works. Got to get the wife to sew the bottom hem back on though. But it works nice.
ex. ==> Hot enough for the flies from a neighbors chicken house to not be IN the camper this AM.

A shot of the screen as it sits right now from the inside.

Really need wife to get on that sewing though.

Also I left the right side edge on in case I need to use it on the rear door or another door down the road. I can fold that up and use safety pins to keep it from hanging out like that. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

We've been gone on Father's Day 4 day camping trip. My son and his gf in the tent ... It was very nice, 60* at night to 85* in daytime.

Just today june 19,2012 I received an e-mail from my friend in Florida
it contained a message how filling a baggie with 4 pennies inside half full of water
hang it up at an open door window what have you and the flies won't enter.
she swore it worked.
I wrote her back I know it works, baggie-pennies-water and of course a good fly swatter is all that is needed.

I didn't need gimmics with my MagickScreen.
What I did need was some ant spray. So many ants in the power box at the park it kept flipping the breaker. Had to call the park Rangers in to fix it.

That's an old wives tale... you have to use nickels!

At a fireworks event, I saw the cook shack had those bags of water hanging around it. I asked, and they said "Ol Tick says it keeps the flies out." I said, "What about all of those flies flying around in there." The girl behind the counter replies, "Ol Tick says, those flies must have already been in here and now they're trapped!"

My wife read the same thing on the internet. She tried it with a couple of baggies, several pennies, and half a bag of water.

I have come to the conclusion that our flies don't have internet access yet. :throw PC: :rofl2:

Larry,

Ant and flying insect spray are always on our list of things to take along in the CT, along with lots of repellant. 8)

Don, I've never really had that much problem with insects on my camping trip till this last one.
short circuiting the breaker with ant bedding and the "acid they excrete being conductive to electricity".
I'm thinking that might very well be the cause of my last trip's breaker flipping all the time. I redone a lot of my electrical stuff and added a separate shore power access just for the AC due to that problem.
Anyways.. I know what to do now and won't wait on a park official.

That's where I bought mine from, Vintage trailer.
It can suck out the hot air in that trailer and pull in through the two windows opened to the first sliding notch very nicely.
I had to build a frame to take up the difference in thickness of the wall but it's ok now.

yesterday I scored a 13" Duraband Color TV for the camper for $10 when I purchased the wife a 19" one for $15 to use with a DVD player for working out at the local thrift shop. I already had a spare HD converter from the .gov's program couple years ago and some spare coaxial cable in tool shed...
Add a RCA antennae to coaxial transformer from Lowe's $3.97.
I then built a DIY antennae from this link: http://www.instructables.com/id/Homemade-TV-antenna/#
I can now pick up 10 and all it's three sub-channels, 19 and it's sub-channels, 25 with 4 subchannels, PBS 35s, and Fox 57 ... total cost to me for it all.. $13.97.
Forget satellite dishes. Hahhahahaaa

my homemade antennae Image
Unhook the bungee cord and lay it inside. it's not glued so it comes apart and stores in my electrical cabinet.

For me.. it's just how I do things in most aspects and interests I have. One learns to do so on a disability budget. LOL
