I'll post a few pics when I cut the tubing and hook it all up. It's set up to work where it is (thus, showering outside the side door) while still be "grab-and-go" as needed. More to come later!

Per No David's idea of bike stands for the campsite and, perhaps, en route in the trailer, I found a low profile design online. These are two sections, 3 bikes each. They are just drying in the trailer - that is not how I expect to transport the bikes per that placement. I believe one will fit in my truck cap as well.

If it was me and I wanted to permanently mount it there, I would do a sheet metal duct on top of the heater so that it vents outside. A CO monitor is always a good idea too.

Your points are noted!

CO monitor is definitely in the works. Also, remember we have to shower outside with the side door open. If exhaust is a problem, I may just set up to hang on the inside door when in use. As the door is swung outward, we then have our instant shower.

Thank you for the invite! Unfortunately, you are on the other side of the country! :) We have a fantasy of a West Coast road trip - we have loved ones in the NorthWest. This is where owning a small business has its downsides - it would be near impossible for a 2-3 week road trip.

I think hanging it on the inside of the door so that it swings out for use is a great idea. :applause:

I've seen several inside/outside mounts where they hang it inside to transport then hang it on a mount outside to use, but with it on the door you don't even have to take it loose to use it outside.

I wasn't going to spend the kind of money required for a diamond plated hitch box.

Found this gem at Home Depot, paid for with a little birthday cash I received. Pretty heavy duty for the money and a great size.

Mounted 2 propane tanks with a standard mount and put a hatch in the floor for propane lines.

fun stuff

Postby outsidezion » Sat Mar 14, 2015 3:57 pm

Its been a long, bitterly cold winter here and I've been waiting for a rainy day like this one to finish up on some hanging items.

My family is planning on camping over night with me in two weeks for a half-marathon trail run I'm signed for. One of the main reasons we put this camper together is for this kind of thing. http://www.parunners.com/tiadaghton-trail-race.html

Pads for the kids beds and fishing rod rack:

Nice memory foam dual layer mattress for our bed, curtains (with antler tie down hooks), and a "shelf" from my Cabela's camp cot. Everything we did was with an eye towards weight and simplicity:

I like the hitch box. Do you have any additional info on it?

Nice build!
