Yes, cut the studs, but used 1in square aluminum bar screwed into studs to frame window They used Z channel for studs in the CT, so bars screwed in under lip on one side and used L brackets on the other. When the window screws in, it all ties in very strong. Of course, when the plywood gets all screwed in around the window also, it is even more solid.

This is a good way to do it if you do not weld or have access to one. Here's how it looked before closing it up. I had P hat type studs in my CTC so I did it very similar except there is an edge on each side to screw into so no L brackets needed.

If you have a welder and have the skills to use it, you just would use 1 inch steel tube to weld in frame as needed.

This is what it looked like framed in: I am sure you can do this for your second window.

PS, sorry to hear about your 2 smoke. Hope you find another DRZ.

My son has moved to Nebraska now and has a house, so he is coming in a few weeks to retrieve all the stuff he left at home when he went to college and off to seminary. He is taking his DRZ home and I am sending my KTM-450EXC with him since I don't ride it much now that I have the KTM-690R here also. I figure I will ride it more with him when I fly out to see him and etc.. It will be nice to have a dirtbike out there. I don't really have anyone to ride single track with anymore now and I stopped pushing my luck going solo deep into the woods riding like a wild man. My family really gave me a hard time about it and I get it. Tommy's accident just kinda highlighted the risks we take riding like that. The KTM-690R will do fine for my off road camping and dual sporting now. Want to be around for the grand children! Someone has to teach them to ride!

Go camping and post some pics. :-)

I'm trying to!
I actually like it better after all the vacationers are gone and school returns. Less people.
I've been riding my TW with Jim as a street bike. Noticed my counter shaft seal is leaking. So I need to get some parts ordered. The TW is a little different with an extra seal and bearing. Because it's got a long out put shaft to widen the front to match the wide rear tire.

My KTM-450 has a slight countershaft seal leak and I like it. Unless it gets really bad, right now it serves as an automatic chain lube system! ;-) It is easy enough to fix but until it starts slinging oil or loosing too much between changes... I am leaving it be.

I'm ordering parts while I have the money. But in waiting till riding season ends to repair.
Rode to work Wednesday- yesterday, which was Thursday . Froze! Had my vented jacket with my sweatshirt over it. I thought my other jackets were both in Taz. Stopped by the farm on my way home and grabbed a different jacket. After going to bank I headed home. Noticed a car gaining on me before my turn. So I weaved in my lane to grab their attention. Used my hand signal and bikes. Had my ugly green Ryobi bag full. Hard to miss it's uglyness. Truck in opposing lane was turning left. I didn't trust vehicles behind either of us. The lady behind me ended up beside me. As I saw her not slowing I started waving my arms. I thought she was passing me on right. And going to be hit by truck turning. But - She said sorry I didn't see you. I said what?, sorry I just didn't.
Unbelievable.

I was hit from behind on my motorcycle at a stoplight about 12 years ago. It hurts. I was thrown into the air and landed on the hood of the car head first and rolled off onto pavement as my bike continued into the intersection (at least that is what witness said as I do not remember anything except the impact and then waking up on the road). Thank God I was wearing all my gear. Just alot of bruises, pulled muscles, and some blood clotting in my leg. It rang my bell for sure as I had headaches for a while and very sore to move around for about a week or two. No broken bones.. unbelievable.

Driver visibly shaken with tears in his eyes says "Sorry, I didn't see you" as I lay on the ground. I think he was anticipating it to turn green and was not ready to stop.

It doesn't stop me from riding because I love to ride, but best be watching what is going on behind you also. ;-)

I'm sure I've mentioned
I've been hit walking on the side of the road.
On my Intruder, other driver saw me but thought light malfunctioned so took her turn in front of me. That's what crushed my right ankle
On a big 4x4 Tractor.
I've wreck a few times on my own. It's just life.

Amen to that. Most of my injuries are self inflicted from doing the things that make me feel alive! Kinda ironic I'd say. :-)

Spent Thursday night in TAZ, no camping other that @ work. Then Saturday, Jim texted he wanted me to move my trailer soon. So he could have that area to split wood.
So I brought TAZ home Sunday, only available day I had. Probably a good thing as temps are supposed to FALL! Today I drained water, a shot some anti freeze in lines. Just to be safe & I had the time, until I can get it in pole barn. Then I will be filling the tank, one to help lower trailer to get it in. And 2 for emergency water.

Wow the summer went by quick. Already to put back the barn. Too bad you didn't get to camp more this summer. :-(

I actually only camped once this summer. Work keeps getting in the way of fun. Fall and Winter are prime time here anyhow.

You ever thought about winter camping? I'd have to find a way if I lived in that part of the country. Summer is just too short there.

Some campgrounds are open for hunters, snowmobilers. Been a long time since I've winter camped. I can remember going for hunting season - mid November to Dec,1. And snowmobiling in UP.

There you go. I could see myself getting into snowmobiles. Toy hauler should handle it. Riding offroad and camping. Just need to bring warm clothing. :-)

Mad, not sad! He wanted me to throw the ball not take his pic.
But he does like the trailer. In the pole barn I leave the trailer door open. When I'm working on stuff in pole barn he lays in trailer.
I'm sad, I really wanted to go somewhere this year. But even just, camping at work. I'm glad I have it.
