7x12 NEO CT. 45th Parallel Tramper

Postby funengineer » Wed Apr 29, 2015 9:18 am

I've been lurking for a few months collecting ideas for adding some modifications to a custom CT I ordered about 6 weeks ago. My plans have changed some but I still plan on a few mods when time permits. My main purpose is to haul my Wheel Horse garden tractors to shows and have a place to sleep while there.

Here's a couple of pictures from when I picked it up.

Welcome funengineer,
I really liked the NEO trailers and wanted to buy one but ended up in a disagreement with the manufacturer, so did not go that way. You have a great base to work from.

Thanks lrrowe.
Sorry you had a problem with the NEO staff.
I picked NEO because it's all aluminum and they pay close attention to the fit and finish. Their use of CNC machines and other technology assures a well built high quality product.

Can I ask what issues you had?

Funengineer- our trailers are similar. Neo is made here in Michigan. Are you in Michigan?
Mine is an All American

Were your windows factory installed?
Edit my trailer is actually American Hauler, all aluminum.

So my trailer is an all aluminum 7x12 v-nose. It has an additional 24" in the nose and an interior height of 72". Exterior height is 93" so I can park it in my garage or pole barn. had them add a 3500 pound axle with electric brakes, two 15" x 30" windows, two tone screw less exterior, aluminum wheels with radial tires, radial spare and interior mount.

My plans are for a converter, a small 110v dorm fridge, some small cabinet and counter space in front, additional LED lighting, tie downs and rubber or vinyl flooring and probably some rigid foam insulation.

My experience was a strange one and I elected just to walk away from them after many communications that went back and forth.

See viewtopic.php?f=42&t=60145 for what went on.

But I am going to watch your progress very closely. I was and still am of the opinion that the NEO trailer is a quality product.

Padilen
Yes I'm from Gaylord in northern Michigan. The NEO is made in Sturis, MI.

Our trailers look like twins.

Yes I had the windows installed at the factory. $250 covered the two windows and installation.

Too bad about your experience with NEO and their staff. I can understand their warranty issues but not how you were treated. My only experience with the factory was when I requested dealer information online. After 5 days I had to email them directly to get an answer but when I did I received responses from two different people. An additional inquiry regarding build time was also answered quickly.

I bought my trailer from Grandville Trailer in Granville Michigan. I dealt with the owner Dave Tosh. Dave was very pleasant and knowledgable and seemed just as excited to have my custom trailer built as I was. Grandville is about 3.5 hours from me. There were two other dealers closer, one as close as 12 miles but with no trailer experience. They're a power sports vehicle store. I chose Grandville Trailer due to their experience in selling trailers and Dave Tosh.

I was quite disappointed as I was looking forward to coming to MI and then making a side trip to my alma mater in East Lansing.

I talked to Grandville Trailer- they had none in stock to look at. But I ended up with a trailer delivered unseen.
I'm near Cadillac Mi

Postby funengineer » Fri May 27, 2016 4:27 pm

So I decided to install a roll on bedliner on my floor to seal it from oil, grease and dirt. I decided on Monstaliner after looking at three other brands. I also considered epoxy, vinyl and rolled rubber. Here's today's pics.
Removed tie-downs, trim and cleaned grease with acetone. Sanded entire floor and sealed with polyurethane.
Here's the floor sanded and half the ramp sanded to show how dirty it was.
Image
Here it is with the sealer applied.

Tomorrow I apply the first coat of Monstaliner.

Sent from my tractor seat.
