Thanks. I really enjoyed the trip. Been a while since I have camped in a tent and cooked my lunch along a mountain stream. Life is good.

Meet Lexus. I brought her home today. She is a 6 week old German Shepherd. Will be my travel companion. Training already started. She likes the CTC. I am a bit taken. :-)

Thanks McDave and Hank.Having a 6 week old pup is tiring. She is a sweet puppy. Going to take some work to train her, but I suspect it will be more than worth it.

That little pup is adorable! Having a puppy, while a lot of work, is really just a joyous time!

Thanks. She is a great dog. Patience and consistency will win the day. You have to put the time in for sure, but what great companions. Already she is my shadow all day.

She likes to go for Ice Cream with me already. They fix special puppy treats. Just whipped cream.

flboy, Howdy;

Personal thought is I'd just get the full sized bed to begin with
and she'll always know it, instead of getting the next then the next then,.....
Same for crates, with them you can put a false wall in it and move it
towards the back as she grows into it. But, she's yours not mine and
you'll do it your way. Just some suggestions.

Hi Hank. I agree 100%. We already had the bed and a starter kennel. Her next move is to adult sized, which I already have too. She will grow fast! Right now she is about 7.5 lbs. Will grow to 85lb. My last GSD was a male and he was 115lbs. I got a female this time more for the size. They ar typical 2/3 they size. I think she will fit in the truck better.

Looks like I am going to have a lot of time off to travel due to Covid-19. The CTC is finished and I have my new travel companion to keep me company in the stretches when my wife won't be with me. In any case, the adventure starts with my trip to Sturgis in late July and I will make my way back home to Florida by Halloween. I am planning my route now. I will likely chased back by cold weather. In any case... Lexus will be a big part and I plan to film her grow up as I train her and take her on the road and as I live out of my CTC while exploring our beautiful country. Here is the kickoff. Enjoy!

That sounds like the smartest plan I've heard anybody come up with in a long time. Funny how things can just work out for you sometimes. You put in a lot of time and travel recently for work, so it's probably time for a break from that anyway. I wish you much luck in your travels. If you need anything just say the word. Have a great time, Mr. Smith.
Be Safe!

Thanks McDave. Looking forward to the adventure. If Sturgis remains an official event this year, may see you there.

Just F.Y.I.,
It looks like the Beartooth Rally and Ironhorse Rodeo is still a go. It's a couple weeks before Sturgis, July 16 - 19, 2020. It is held in Red Lodge, Mt. Boondock style camping is available at the Rodeo grounds, also there are several nice state camping areas in the area and a KOA as well as several other RV camping parks. From Red Lodge it is just a short distance to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Cody, Casper etc.. Glacier Ntl. Pk. will also be open so if you needed to burn time between rallies there is a lot to see between the Black Hills and Montana and Wyoming. The Beartooth Highway is one of if not the best motorcycling roads in North America. You can return via the Chief Joseph Highway that is also spectacular. It will take you to Cody. From there it's a short ride back to Red Lodge. It's a pretty full day of riding if you do the poker run. If not it's probably 6hrs depending on traffic/weather etc.
Just food for thought.
You might get a pic of that Jackpot like this,

Hi McDave. My last day of work is July 24 at the company I have worked for for 37 years , so I will not be able to make those Rally's although they sound real good! Will be leaving Florida on ~July 28 to head towards Sturgis with my wife and Lex. Stopping for a few days in Pope, Nebraska on the way up for my Son's birthday first week in August. My son moved there after the Theological Seminary in Dallas last June and I have not visited him there yet. Of course my wife has been there to see the grandkids already!

He just bought a 1918 vintage house on the edge of town there near the Church he is a Pastor of, so I think he has plans for me after Sturgis at least for a few weeks. I have to do some electrical upgrades (has old knob and tube wiring in some places) and a front porch demolished and rebuilt. So once I get those jobs done... heading North alone with Lex (wife flies home from Nebraska) through the Dakota's to Canada and think I am going to follow Highway one west then work my way South through Montana, Idaho, Utah, Arizona an New Mexico as it cools down then East to Florida slowly by Oct. time frame. I really haven't got it all figured out yet for this year as my wife will catch up with me a few times via larger city airports where we plan pickups at. For instance, Vegas... she wants to see Grand Canyon... she has never seen it.

Stay in touch.. may have a chance to meetup in Sturgis or etc..
