Man, that sounds like a great summer! Check out Banff Natl. Park in Canada if you get the chance. So beautiful.. Then you could drop in through Glacier Natl. Park and then Yellowstone, Salmon, Moab, Grand Canyon, White Sands, Carlsbad etc. I'm totally jealous now. Congrats on 37 years though. That must be the only job since the Army? Wow. Well whatever you decide to do enjoy yourself. You have earned it for sure.

Thanks McDave. Yes, I graduated HS at 17 and went into Army for GI bill. Army put me through Electronic Warfare/Intercept Systems school and I started at the company I work for as a Weather Radar Electronics Technician and also started College after enlistment ended. Went on to various roles in Operations, Engineering and Management in following years. Been very blessed.

What do you guys and gals who go on the road for a few months at a time use for doing the dirty laundry? I do not want to use Laundry Mats and wait in there and etc.. I figure I can wash and rinse in the double kitchen sink (especially socks, t shirts and underwear type stuff) or a 5 gal bucket (jeans, bedding, and large items) and then spin dry with this machine that spins at 3200 RPM. Then the laundry can hang dry in back and be dry in an hour or less since it is just barely damp coming out of the spinner. Can capture stream or lake water in a 5 gal bucket when nearby a clean water source so as not to waste my potable fresh water in holding tanks. That's my thought anyway. Would like to hear how others do this chore.

I went Scuba diving yesterday and used this to spin dry the wet-suit after I rinsed it just to test it out. The wet-suit was virtually dry after 2 minutes and was dripping wet going in. I could not believe the water that came out. After 50 minutes hanging in my garage, it felt dry to touch. Very happy with results.

My plan is to store this in the very back of the CTC garage area and then set it in shower and plug in the bathroom outlet when to use. It is the perfect place since there is a drain . This particular unit gets really good reviews.

I boondock camp high in the mountains for about 3 to 4 months of the year, so I do most of my laundry by hand. I like to pick an area for laundry that has a nice easy water source so I don't use my tank water. I fill my wash bag half or quarter full with water, and then carry it up away from the stream at least 200 yds.

I use a roll top dry bag for washing my laundry. I think mine is about a 20 or 30 liter bag. Here is a link to a 20L one that is like mine. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ERK6R28/re ... th=1&psc=1

It is pretty tough and handles all my rough usage. To wash I just put clothes in, add soap (you only need a little, and I use biodegradable), and then I agitate it. I will sometimes roll it, rub or rock it with my foot while sitting in a chair, or even take it for a nice rough ride in the truck. Most anything works.

I usually agitate it for a few minutes then let it sit 20 min or so and come back and agitate it some more.... depends on how dirty stuff is. I might even rub out some stains by hand, but I seldom have to do that. Then I will drain it (a nice slope works well for this) and rinse a time or two. It is a bit of work, but not bad if I do it once a week or so. My camping wardrobe mostly consist of fast drying nylon or polyester.

I use a Nina Soft Spin Dryer which makes the whole process easier. It speeds up the drying process and makes draining and rinsing the clothes a lot easier. I spin the wash water out, and the rinses. Drying usually takes place on cords I string across my shower, or I may string a line between trees or between my truck and camper. Everything drys quickly after being spun out.

I like the dry bag. It doesn't take up much room when not in use, and it also comes in handy for occasional other chores and uses. Such as fetching some water to rinse cow mess off when I got stuck behind a large herd drive! Idaho and Wyoming are great for that kind of entertainment!

John Steinbeck wrote a book back in the early 60's "Travels with Charlie"
He built a truck camper on the back of his pick-up and took his dog Charlie
with him for a circular tour of the USA. When he had laundry to do he'd
put it in a 5 gal. bucket and leave it in the camper while he drove down
the road. Good book, you might want to read it to Lexi so she'll know
whats coming.

Me I use the laundromat here at the RV Park, $3.25 and it's washed and dried.

Out of curiosity, I pulled my dry bag out, and it is a 30L size. Flat it is about 26-28 inches long and about 12-14 wide.

Thanks for the info Cindy. I think I will do the same. Seems like a great idea and it will store easy inside the Panda Spinner when I am not using it to wash clothes.

Latest Lexus Video. Roughly about 6 to 7 weeks before I hit the road with her in the CTC for a few months. So looking forward to the adventure. Nothing to do to the CTC to get ready other then really think about what I need to take in the way of tools and etc.. The Laundry solution was the last thing I needed to take care of.

Thanks. I seriously considered the Malinois because of similar attributes (intelligence, etc.) as the GSD but in a smaller and easier to travel package... but they are alot more high energy than a GSD supposedly, and the GSD's are bad enough. My puppy wears me out. I went with the female GSD because she will be typically 1/3 smaller than her male counterparts. Expecting Lex to top out at between 75-85 lbs. Lex's momma was 80lbs... daddy was 115 to 120 breeder says. I saw him and he was at least that. Looked like my Benz, but more muscular. Probably because he was not "fixed" as Benz was and has more testosterone!

My last GSD (Benz) was a male and he was 115lbs of athlete in his prime.

Lex has doubled her weight since I got her on May 15th. Ears are starting to
perk up. I have been taking her out to the CTC each day to get her use to it amongst other things. She still needs a little help with getting in. She is trying to jump in already but just can't clear the first step. She is jumping out fine, however. Seems to be fearless so far. Sure is a cutie and socializing well with people and other animals and is walking well on leash.
