Glad to see you'll be out running around..
I live for the adventure, and when I'm not able to do it..
I enjoy reading about those that do..
Have fun and be safe...

Hi. Hope all is well with you. I too enjoy adventures. Wife is not traveling with me on the road this time, but will fly in for a week while I am here with our son and grandkids. She cannot be away too long right now as she looks after her mom whose health is failing.

I did take the larger 7x18ft CTC this time since I will not be offroad on this trip. It is nice to have the extra space since this is my home for a month. My dog Lexus appreciates the floor space, believe me. Lol.

Hope you can get out there soon. Be sure to post up to share your adventures. Take care.

Anyone been kicked out of a Bucees? I was sleeping in the CTC and got the knock on the door about 1AM and told I could not not park overnight. New policy reportedly just put in place according to employee kicking me out. This was last week at the Bucees just North of Atlanta on I75. I hope this will not be corporate wide. I had to move on to a Love's Truck stop near Chattanooga.

I've never looked at thier website, but I have been doing it for a while now as I transport RVs from Indiana factories to Fl. dealer when asked. This is the first time I've been approached and asked to leave. No signs to that affect that I have seen and I see many others doing it as well. I suppose it is over for me now. Was nice while it lasted. :( :(

Made it back to the homestead after being gone for a month. Glad I had the larger CTC for the space. I had a flat on the way out to Nebraska and two at once which left me stranded for the night on the way home. Valve stem failures! I don't think they replaced the stems when the tires were replaced a few years ago. Getting metal valve stems exclusively going forward. Lucky I didn't have blowouts. In both cases, I observed the low pressure at gas stops.

In any case, thinking I might sell the 7x18 and build another all aluminum 8.5 x 18 that is not a toy hauler. Luxury comfort for when my wife and I are are the road together more often in a few years. I have an Idea for taking the motorcycle when I want.

Saw this on the road. Will build something similar and attach via 3 2 inch hitch receivers when I want take the cruiser with me, which is not too often. Basically a tag axle that I can backup and etc.. Mine would be just large enough for a full bagger. This way I can maximize the interior space for living and still have the option to take a big motorcycle if I want. If I am taking a dirtbike, wife will most likely not be with me and I'll take the 6x12.

I observed the low pressure at gas stops.

Did you just perform a visual check or did you take the time to use an air pressure gauge?

It has come time for me to sell this trailer. Going to be building a new one with a different design in mind. In any case, regardless of what I have in it, what do you think this is worth given it is home made and the owner would buy as is and be responsible for any repairs or etc. it may need in time? They'd be on thier own.

Thoughts?

I need this. your 7x16 is great inspiration.
Sucks about the Buc-ees thing. Just tell them you won't be filling up for personal and commercial needs anymore...

Happy to watch you build another trail for sure, the hoarder in me says keep it also but I understand.

I’d think you could get a bit over trailer value. It’s hard to find folks with cash like that and a bank wouldn’t understand the conversion I don’t think.
Or maybe the size of trailer compared to rv’s similar size for cost?

Tough choice for sure

BigDave_185..
I agree.. not expecting to get what I have in it.

Gulfcoast.. I get it. However, I didn't build it as an investment and never expected to sell it for breakeven some day. Honestly, I would have lost what I have in the CTC on 6 years of depreciation on a new trailer.. Used ones are definitely the better way to go.... in some cases, but I'd rather enjoy building a custom trailer and using it. So I loose a little money on resale. I plan on keeping my 6x12 a long long time and my next build will likely be my last..

Don, when you do decide, throw a price out there, I know a few people looking. I would be, but just got a 2018 Heartland Terry Classic that was hardly used from 2nd owner.
