Glad to see your buddy back out camping again. Good for the body and the soul. Looks like Delancy that you were camped at. For a different change of scenery try the next forest north. Osceola National Forest. Camp at Ocean Pond Campground. Very nice and little used riding areas up there. I rode a couple of dual sport rides there back in 2008 and 2009 (no more since) that the river city dirt riders (Jax club) put on and was impressed with the area and especially the lack of deep sand and whoops. There is a forest service store on the same road as ocean pond camp where you can buy maps. Need a plated bike, avoid during general gun season, can be very wet/standing water if its been rainy, about a 100 miles north of Salt Springs, 2nd choice for campground is Lake City campground on 441. I will keep Osceola NF in mind. I did a Dual Sport there with JAx club in 2008 also. It was the Black Bear Dual Sport I think? I stayed at the Lake City campground and rented a cabin there. We rallied outside the Huddle House... At the time, there was a Vintage MX track next door. We were suppose to get a few laps on that, but it was wet and they didn't want it to be all torn up I guess. I do remember the riding there was much nicer than ONF.. Like you said.. not all torn up.

Did you get your WR all sorted out and ready for the road?

DC motors are incredibly strong and easily modulated. It's just... well I'm afraid I'd have to put playing cards in the spokes to even relate to the speed etc. but the power and the fact you may not need a transmission, or clutch and the regenerative braking is way cool. I would definitely try it.

LOL.. I was thinking the same thing... too quiet. That would take some getting use to. I am sure they could create an app for the phone. I do remember the old cards in the spokes. We were so cool riding around the neighborhood with the banana seats and sissy bars with cards in the spokes. Good stuff!

Yep we rode the same event. There is/was a much bigger mx track on 441 just north of the Lake City cg and that is where the event was based out of in 2009. Still working a little on the KLR and WR - lots of boxes/mods yet. Trying to figure out a ride for this summer. Hoping for the MABDR - Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route on the KLR and then the TAT - Trans America Trail on the WR or the CDR - Continental Divide Route on the KLR (the bicycle guys at http://www.adventurecycling.com sell the maps/route sheets). Hurry up and get retired dammit I need all the riding/touring buddies I can get!!

Got the 110VAC outlet on. It is wired with the internal GFCI. Lots of Dicor tape to seal. I have the 12VDC SAE quick connects coming tomorrow. I will hook one up on each side. Nice to have power access outside.

The blue box has and adjustable metal plate on the backside sort of like a flange that just screws to the wall on the inside.

Notice the little adjustment screw on the middle right of the blue box. It sets the depth. The backside of this comes out in the battery box under the dinette seat.

Easy stuff. I will snap a pic later and edit post.

Got the 12V DC SAE quick connect outlets in today. There is one just like this on the other side so I can plug in the BW macerator in close to the BW drain. I can also plug in my 12VDC compressor on each side now if I need to put air in the tires. Just makes it easy. I also can cut power to all the outside outlets from inside just for safety and tampering resistance.

I have been wanting power outlets outside for a while. Just getting to some little things. I bought the aluminum trim for the ramp door this weekend. I will maybe have time next weekend to install that. I also bleached the freshwater system and flushed the holding tanks. Just a little bit of maintenance.


I still need take the Exacto blade and trim off the excess Dicor. :-)

I bought it at Home Depot. Here is a pic installed and the Home Depot picture. You can set the depth with the screw I put the blue arrow on. SO then just screw the plate to the inside wall and it secures the gang box very nicely. This comes out under my dinette seat by the batteries. You will see that I broke off the two tabs. I think those are meant to engage the 2*4 when using on wall studs.
