You should be able run both winches off one solenoid if under next to no load. If concerned just wire the second solenoid to be run of the control wire from the first or buy a larger solenoid wired to your remote. If you bugger up one you still have a second remote control to try again. But to be honest splitting a 100lb load across 2 2500lb winches will be a no load situation.

Good point on running the second solenoid from the first. I'd have to take apart the second remote relay to access the control wire, but I think I could figure that out. I am counting on it being pretty much a "no load" situation as you mention , however... If it takes out the 50A breaker... then I'll consider modifying the relays.

Like almost everything about this CTC, it has been one big experiment for me. Very fun one!

Just make sure you have a way to disconnect the power when you are in the bed. Two 2500lb winches would put a person in a hella squeeze against the ceiling if something happened to short out.

Very good point. I have an extra 12vdc cutoff switch. I may put that inline and just shut off power when the bed is down. Thanks.. I wouldn't have thought about that until I was sandwiched between the mattress and ceiling. :-)

Packing up to head out tomorrow for an off-road dirt-bike event. I took the day off to pack up and etc.. So, I had time to put on the anti-sway bar today. It should help out with crosswinds and sway as large trucks pass by. I'll let you know how it works. With the load balancing hitch, sway is minimal now, but I like it rock steady.





I also put the hose connector on the 2.5 Gallon drinking water container that I connect up to the hand pump.

Bike is ride ready and loaded. Just need to add food and clothes and I'm ready. I'll have water and power where I am going with a dump station on the way out. I just may need the Air Conditioner. :-)

Hey Don,
Being as you are an old married guy, like me, I thought you might appreciate these photos. Just finished...
1959 Schwinn Hollywood. It belonged to Jewels' mother, and I've looking at it for over 20yrs. Finally decided to rebuild and paint it. She's pretty happy about the whole thing. Pics aren't great but you can see the overall outcome.









She's also got a 1958 Rambler Ambassador I fixed up for her, that belonged to her Grandmother. 78,000 original miles.
But she's not spoiled...just sayin'

Back home after a great weekend adventure called Devil's creek. 150 riders and a 125 mile loop through the Withlacoochee State Forest each day.

The CTC did great except I had a water heater failure. The water has always been too hot for me... The pressure relief valve popped and started spewing hot water. I think something is wrong with the thermostat? I'll troubleshoot it later.. going to order some cooler thermostats in any case.. and I suspect that is what went wrong... I suppose the gas valve could be going also... or etc.. :-( If it starts to get into any $$, I am going to see if I can hack an On Demand water heater and make it fit in that spot... That is a better way to go.. They do sell On Demand heaters already built for that space, but they are very pricey.

I just shut off the gas to it and used the electric element... That worked well. Not sure why I ever turned the gas on to it since I had a power and water hookup.

Got a few pics of the CTC.. I had quite a few people at the rally come over and ask me about the trailer and they wanted to see inside... That was kind of neat..





Here's me at a checkpoint (roll chart reset) before I dumped the bike in the swamp. Didn't look so clean after that.



Tommy can probably relate to this? :-) The back end had water up to the seat before I drug it up on the bank. I was doing fine and almost through until I hit something submerged and then took a swamp bath. I hit the kill switch as I started to go down.. Didn't want to hydro-lock. That never ends well. Gotta love the KTM.. dried some wires up a bit, drained the fuel bowl for good measure, and she fired right up.

Glad you survived the race intact.
I'm sure you did draw a crowd with that sweet rig. Boy, that looks nice. We got nailed with another 8" of heavy, wet snow early AM Monday, and its 12f this AM. It's been a long cold winter.
Ya, she loved up on me pretty good when she saw the Hollywood. Her Mom had got it 2nd hand, and very used before Jewels was born, so she's been lookin at it in rough shape all her life. We did have our first 50f day on Sunday, so she was pedalling a** all over town for 1 day. Caused quite a commotion in Tiny Town, and I'm still hearing about it. Here's one more shot.

Allow me to ask a question, ... Did you use the hot water tank from the donor camper?
if ya did then you need to leave an "air pocket" in it, allows for thermal expansion which
will also trip the relief valve. Easiest way is to wait till the water temp. cools off, manually
trip the valve then wait to see when the water stops running out of it. close the valve.
Should be good to go from there. Hope this helps.
