Great advice... I had not yet worried about that aspect .... but lots of other worries.

Does anybody know about fuel availability?

Fuel availability is back to normal in this area of Florida. There are a few gas stations that have not re-opened due to damage to their awning structures over the pumps. Other than that and a lot of trash debris along curbside, seems okay. Safe travels.

Hey Tommy and or Don do either live by RC Hill Power sports? I found a bike that I'm interested in. Would be great if you did and could check it out for me.
Thanks

Padilen, I will not be able to get there this weekend, but next Thursday I'd be real close on my way to Ocala NF for camping. If you still are interested then, let me know and I'll see what I can do. It is about 5 hrs round trip from here and I just can't squeeze that in this weekend.

What's the scoop on the bike?

Tommy, I called Salt Springs and the lady who answered said they will most likely be open Thursday AM and to call Weds. to be sure. That's where I will be unless Alexander Springs is also open then.

Ok. Would be best I think. Not safe in the forest solo just yet. No camp host yet anyway. Usually not a big deal but people may be a little desperate and may do things they normally wouldn't.
10 hour days in the yard have taken there toll on me . The water just poured out of me Sat and Sun, all day. Chain saw, shovel, rake, tarp ect. I seem to be having a gout attack maybe. Oh my big toe joint is looking freaky and it hurts like hell. What next.

Those cool dry camping/riding days are priceless and I can barley hang on for it.

Keep us updated and be careful. Keep your guard up. Trust no one. Most likely you will be asked to help some one some where as that happens all the time anyway up there. Remember Z the guy from Yugoslavia who somehow convinced me to go deep into the forest to pull his truck out? Him with a rifle, me by myself. After I pulled his truck out he insisted in a heavy Yugoslavian accent that " we drink NOW! Hahaa, I thought I might be shot and was very nervous. So I drank! How about that guy who wandered up in the dark and convinced me to take him to his ATV that ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere. Again by myself. He's on the back of my ATV holding me a little to tight and I remember thinking That if this guy gets an erection I might have to shoot him but my pistol was where I could not get to it. AND Then that time the State Police came through around 10pm and shined there lights in our faces as they where looking for some bad people. I have more stories but you get the idea!

Have fun!

I got Biketoberfest in Mid Oct and travel for work also. Let's set a date before Thanksgiving and get it on the calender. Same for Dec. before Christmas. I figure 1 a month in the good weather period.

Only just today I had the chance to address this issue. No reply from seller after to many attempts.

This is my 3rd awning replacement after many years. This is the only one to leak at every stich hole. MUST be a knock off. :NC Ant way I must deal with it I guess. Hopefully This will do it..

Clear flex seal at every stitch hole. Will it work, IDK? DOMETIC QC DEPARTMENT.. what happened?? It leaked so bad right under the roof. The entire length of the fabric. :?

But what compounded the issue it the LED lights where just filling up in the channel. :x You cant see it now but the entire under awning would fill with droplets the entire underneath almost immediately when rain fell.

Hello Don! We are some how on the same frequency I think.

Sorry to hear about that Tommy! I have used that flex seal before for different things. It will work, but plan on having to refresh it every year or two.

Next time around, you don't have to use a Dometic top. If it is the same dimensions, it should work. I am not looking forward to when I need to replace my awning fabric.

Taking the CTC to Daytona Beach to a Campground behind the Daytona Speedway for the Oktoberfest weekend. It is not quite boondocking and dirtbiking, but it does include staying in the camper and riding the Kingpin around Daytona for a few days with the crowds. I also get to spend a few days with both my brothers and sister in laws as we camp and ride around. I'll take it.

I am looking forward to the camping in November and etc.. Its gonna be good. I got the KTM up to par I think.. that baby has been abused for 11 years now. A few issues now and then due to age and abuse... but it has been such a trusty bike.. Going to nurse it for a few more years.

Ok Don Sounds like you have a great time lined up in Daytona! Beats hanging around in PB. I REALLY need to get away to the forest.

Check this out and NOTE the date. Delancey West says its open on the web site but to who? I bet its a mess still. So many trees. I pray its open by the 11/8.

I think the flex seal will work fine for a while. Seems good. Fine tuning things in the C.T. some electrical and some carpentry stuff. Got the cooler in there with the new cover on and am monitoring the temp and battery usage. That solar panels LED read out is missing the #4 now. Its failing a little. Will have to watch it. It was fairly cheap. Long as it still works.

Yes these are old pics but what the hell! Cant wait! We will be blasting through those trails soon enough.

Ok the verdict is in. Like Don noted I was just breaking even on the Dometic freezer/fridge regarding the solar battery set up. Max time maybe 30 hours put me at 12.1 volts as the sun was setting. Of course the small Champion genny will fill the gap prior to racking out for an hour or two? Will check back. That's the new insulated cover but I'm not sure I think It gave me another 6-8 hours for a total of maybe 30 hours on one battery + one solar panel. Just info.

Yes its tight in there.

Looks good Tommy! Getting it dialed in!

I got someone flipping my axles for me so I will have that done for the next trip into ONF. Even in Delancey with a few of those dips due to water puddle washout in the campground loop makes me nervous about dragging. This should help that alot. That's the theory anyhow.

If this guy is any good, I may have him weld me up a rock guard to protect the tanks and pipes from road debris while he has the trailer up on the lift. We will see.

Hey Tommy,
My thoughts on the black tank issue. It can't move laterally so all you need to do is support it vertically. Angle iron under the lip at each end of the tank with spacers, washers and nuts to support it and also prevent it from being crushed. Then more spacers, washers and nuts to support a skid plate. 1/8" should be enough, maybe 3/16". Here is a pic I tried to mark up. I am NOT a computer wiz...

Yes Mcdave that seems like the way to go seriously. I will give it some thought and get a price on a big flat piece of aluminum.

Thanks!
