The bike looks great in there! Nice job!

2 weeks until camping time. :-)

I am doing some minor stuff in the CTC prior. I hope to have the bed lift completed and I am going to add a cell phone booster inside the CTC so I can get good signal inside, especially in fringe areas like ONF. I also have an adjustable thermostat that I found for the hot water tank. Going to dial the temperature back some. It is way too hot now and will scald you of not careful.

Hey Don. Yes really looking forward to it. Hope its not like 98 degrees or something.

Have been looking at the satellite images of the trails on the west side of 19 as you head towards the ferry. Many of them if we have to stay at SSR area.

More Gatorade less beer for those hot days for sure. Heat stroke bad! I think maybe a few citronella candles for the bugs too.

Good luck on that bed lift.

Tommy, I just joined to post my admiration at an amazing job. Just spent the last 2 days (3? Lost track of time LOL) following the thread from start to current. No pun intended.

Redneck Packrat,

Thank You for saying so. I took a look inside this morning before work for security reasons and it still makes me say wow. Cant believe I did that. Makes me want to camp and ride pretty bad.

A few of my horse fly bites are STILL healing. They look like cigarette burns or something. Tissue necrosis I think. I don't know if its worth it. Horse fly's love me for some reason. Going to pass the next 5 months or so boating, fishing and shooting at the range. Maybe some inshore scuba. Bought a nice SW MP 15 22 Standard Production model with a red dot scope for some fun cheap plinking to pass the summer.

My awning material totally separated layers and peeled back some on a previous windy day. Was just a small crack. I had it deployed and the wind just destroyed it. They don't last but 4-5 years max it seems. That's #2. Trailer is 10 years old now.

Take it easy packrat!

Tommy glad to hear you are kicking... Did you get my last email? Just wanted to make sure since you were having e-mail/phone issues. In any case, sorry to hear the horesefly bites are still troubling you.

Guess I'll be camping solo for the summer. :( :( I am in Dallas this week and am driving a busload of kids to summer camp in Alabama in a few weeks. I am going to try get away in early July for a trip to ONF. I may do Alexander Springs or Big Scrub... I have to fix my KTM between now and then also. I got side tracked on a few CTC projects with the little time I have had. Making a few improvements and finishing a few odds and ends. Never done is the motto!

Hey Don!
Sounds like you have a busy itinerary this summer with the new grandkid and the church outing out of state. Let me know when you are ready to ride again. SE or maybe local on the KTM.

I might consider an ATV camp/ride as its so much easier in the heat. No chance of heat stroke and you can ride all day with a cooler. Maybe you could borrow one?

Easy to keep up to 20-25 mph to escape the dreaded horse fly swarm.

Hey Tommy,
Been a while, good to hear you're still kickin'.
I've been workin' on that awning issue myself, and it occurs to me that the real issue here isn't use, but the non-use that eats em' up. So, what we need is a cover to protect fabric during storage. There are several ways to do this ranging from cheap to outrageously expensive. Here's some ideas to get you started.

https://awningpro-tech.com/

https://www.carefreeofcolorado.com/rv-p ... ction.html

I have also seen a piece of pvc tape about 18" wide x 10', 12' etc. that attaches to the fabric, and as it is rolled up the tape is the last to get rolled, putting it on the outside of the roll for protection.

If anybody has another bright idea, I'd love to see it.

Horseflies are no fun. I don't know what it is about 'em but they're almost as bad as a dang spider bite. Take FOR-frickin-EVER to heal.

Fixing to post a little about me over in the newbies section.

Keep ahead of those flies!

I used the black curragated drainage pipe on my 12' awning. You cut a 2" strip all the way down length. Spread apart and it fits on snug.

Is it just for parked long term or will it stay on when you travel?

I forgot about it traveling to campground and not a problem. Very snug.

Darn, now I have to choose between the white gutter example posted by McDave and this one by you Bob. They both look like good examples.
