We're headed to a race right now. The track has water hookup so I'll find out if my quick and easy PEX hookup worked or not real quick.

Don't forget to get a pressure regulator for the incoming water. Hook it up at the spigot between it and the hose
that way it will protect the entire system. You can get one at just about any wal-mart .

I made some more progress on the conversion. I have the closet done, except for the door. I have the bathroom framed up. I got my black and gray tanks, but have not installed yet. Sink is in, just waiting until I get tanks installed to do the drain plumbing. I am going to use Hepvo valves on sink and shower instead of p-traps. Here are some pictures.

I got to work on the Murphy bed in the garage area. Took old bed frames and welded together. Then used what was left to make the wall brackets. I wanted to go to the floor to support the weight when in the stowed position. Just need to cover with plywood and then add 4" of firm foam and 3" of memory foam. Should sleep nice. When stowed the bike tires still clear it, that's why it is so high. Also gives storage room under it.

Good idea to use the bed frames. I imagine they are lighter than wood.

I like it! I must have had a half dozen of those frames in the stash pile. I've used em' for all kinds of stuff. Lots of good angle iron and square tube to salvage for this and that.
That Murphy looks real good. Nice job!

Thanks for the compliments. I got the foam in the mail so I will post the completed pics soon. Now to get these holding tanks installed so I can finish the bathroom.

Do you have a link to the website where you got the foam? I've been looking all over the internet for a source. I must just be using the wrong search terms.

Foambymail.com I got the Lux regular foam. It has good density so a knee or elbow doesn't hit the plywood with the memory foam on top. It is too hard to sleep on by itself, but makes great seat cushions and base for a bed.

Thanks! I like my mattress a little more firm so I may try it with just the 4" base and skip the 3" memory foam topper

Thanks for the link Anthony!

For our last conversion, we used http://www.foamfabbed.com/ (no longer in business).

We'll be going for the 4", same as 'nitro_mt_racer'.

Nice build. I used the lux firm 4" from foambymail with a 2" memory. Went with the firm due to my wife's back problems. The 2" topper made it very nice. Its actually a better bed than what we have in the house. "Firm" is an understatement. They state that it is actually for seat cushions. Foambymail has real good customer service. They respond well to questions and is very helpful.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks roadinspector. Same stuff I used I think. It's light blue in color. Firm stuff, but the 3" memory foam on top softens it up and firm foam keeps us from bottoming out on the plywood.

The first night we didn't have the memory foam. The next morning after a night of restless sleep we made a trip to town & got the memory foam. Never thought it would make that big of a difference. It turned a brick into the best bed ever.
