Only do the Joint Venture if you are willing to loose a friend. IMHO, never mix money/business with best friends.

Good advise kind sir! Wouldn't be our first project together, but I can see serious head butting happening on something like this. :cry:

I put in a microwave as well. Didn't think I would use it much but I actually have. Are you familiar with Chicharrones? Or microwave Pork Rinds in gringo. Pretty awesome. If you can find the Hot & Spicey even better, or just hit em' with the chili powder while still hot. They are low carb so they gotta be good for ya.154770McDave

Never tried them, The wife loves pork rinds, we will have to give them a try!

Iconfabul8, Howdy;

I do miss Utah this time of year, Not the scorching heat that I deal with here
still dryish and the temps don't feel like what they truly are. I was further North
up in Mt. Pleasant, San Pete Co. Not to far north from Manti and the "Passion Play".
Looks like you had a good spot to park/camp and enjoy the super fresh air.

This was supposed to be the last thing on my to do list, but I needed something to do last night and I figured, before I went to bed,
I could get a couple plates made for my leveling jacks. I actually ended up staying up most
of the night building plates and taking measurements and making drawings.
This is one of the plates up against the drill. The first thing I had to do today was transfer and drill holes in the bumper mounts.

I had it my mind all along that this was going to be a nice easy job. Turns out I have a few clearance issues I had to deal with.

Unpainted, but all welded up.

Painted and mounted!

Steve,
If I were ever a "team captain", I would have to pick you as one of the fella's on my team. You not only do amazing work, but are also insightful on finding solutions to existing problems.

Nice work for sure.. maybe overkill? I have the standard extending swing down jack stands in the back, but the way I deploy is let the nose down low, then extend the jacks to whereever they contact ground in the back, then crank the nose up to level the front up. It is a 3 point level and always works front to back and side to side. Trick is getting the nose down low before extending the back jacks. I did get an electric crank for the front. I am so lazy.. just one crank instead of three. :-)

Icon..., Howdy;

Beautiful install and fab job for the install, has anyone told you that you do good work??? ;)

I've got a pair like flboy has https://www.amazon.com/Telescoping-Stab ... B008G5AA7E
If I need more I slide a 2X or 4X under them. Had a few steep driveways at fuel stops to
contend with and zero hits ... so far but I hit them I'm rippin' the bumper too.

Thanks Guys, it is always nice to crank one more thing off the list.

Definitely overkill! But when I saw the travel on these things and the fact that they unpin and the landing pad falls to the ground, I figured I could easily level up on any surface. I can probably change a tire with them too! I have been doing it similar to the way you explained, but Ive been using automotive jack stands. I will probably keep using the jack stands because they make the trailer very solid. Just crank a little past level, set the jack stand and lower onto it. An electric jack would be nice, I'm jealous.

I usually break out the stick welder for heavier metals like this and it puts a real nice bead. I am definitely pushing my baby wire feed machine beyond its limits with this heavy stuff. The fact that you have to compensate for the lack of amperage to get some penetration you get a little jagedy on the edges. But I am happy with how it turned out. If they don't fall off that is. :frightened:

Good point on being able to jack it up to change the tire.... now that is a nice feature! Hopefully you won't need to do that often. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
