Hi cdub, Loving your cabinets. I see you scratch built them in place, did you build the cabinet doors also? If so, what technique? Pocket holes, mortise and tenon? Did you route a slot for the center panel?

My pump is up front under the sink. So far i have only tested and run 1 tank of water through it but no draw issues so far.

I used pocket holes and white glue. I router a slot in the back that was 1/4 inch so the maple ply sits flat on the back surface.
I am making some more this week and will try and remember to take some build pics. Pocket holes made life very easy, i used them all over the construction of the cabinets.

I am starting to build my cabinets this weekend and will be building doors for my first time. Martin (another CTC builder on this forum) convinced my I could do it... so I am going to give it a shot. I got the pocket hole jig and I am going to buy a trim router also. I have Diamond plate aluminum on the way which I am going to use as the door panel.

I always viewed cabinet doors like a monitor on a PC. You can have the best PC in the world, but if you have a crappy monitor, that is all they will see. I think cabinets are that way in a camper. A lot of hard work goes in, but if I do the cabinet doors poorly, that is what will be seen.

Going to try out the unit for a few days in the bush. Still work to do but we are far enough along to try it out. We will be sleeping on the floor for this trip. hopefully the bed will be done by the next trip.
Fire extinguishers and smoke detector installed as well as emergency door releases for the rear door. I used overhead door latches and will release the rear door closers on the outside.

As you can see the back door isnt done yet. I used a small block so the door fits tighter. The latches still release with a pull but should work fine as long as you remember to release the outside locks. Hopefully we never need to use them.

OK so it looks like those are operated independently or one at a time ? I'm trying to come up with something to release both sides by pulling a cable, like a "panic" cord. This could get tricky. That ramp is gonna come down PDQ without someone to guide it down, but in an emergency (smoke, fire, runaway trailer, bee swarm, sharknado, etc) you just want out. And a 6'x 6' exit could come in handy. I wonder if a cord run between the two latches could pull them simultaneously?
I had considered a single center latch, but that wont pull the ramp closed on the sides and the fit isn't great there anyways.

I like the egress latches! Thought about that since all the items that would start a fire are located in the front by the door. I might have to do the same thing.
Looks like your door spring needs another wind or two since it appears that the cable is loose.

On the road for the first try out.
The puppy is on his most likely last trip as he is almost 14. He had a blast but can barely walk as he wont get out of the water until we leave the beach.
First rip with the new to me boat loader. Unload and load the boat by myself at the shore edge.

Set up at camp on a short 2-3 hr trip with about 45mins of back logging road to test out and see if all is still in place.
Still more work to go but with 6 days in the bush we survived with water in the tank(not sure how much yet) lots of propane and 2 dead batteries(survived 5 days until a 1hr top up on the genny)
We had 2 40 watt solar panels hooked up but with being in the trees we didnt get much direct light to collect. Also the stereo was on almost the whole time so i cant complain.
And no repairs required.

Sounds like you had a successful first outing. I hope to get mine out in the next two weeks for its maiden voyage.
