Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

Ordering parts for the hauler, and looking for advice. I already have a water tank and a toilet, as well as a breaker panel for a house. I think I'd rather swap to a convertor/charger and run mostly 12v. Are fantastic fans really worth $100+ over a standard vent/fan when the camper has ac? Here's what all I have in my shopping cart so far, anything you'd change?

I bought the same porch light in black, a very similar style of overhead fixture and the same power panel. The interior is plenty bright with these. I did add 4 recessed directional in the bed area. I put dimmers on most of the interior lights. I used the Fusion stainless plug/receptacle mostly because I have a grey trailer and black units were hard to find. Don't forget the power cord and water fill/inlet.

How is that porch light? I dont want a flood light by the door, but something brighter than just around the entry area.... Was looking at that same one, and found another on e trailer that has twice lumen output.

Thank you for your opinions. I already have the water fill with the random miscellaneous pieces that came with mine. The guy that originally cut it in half gathered some parts and became overwhelmed. Any suggestions on the power cord? The prices are all over the place, is one genuinely better than another? Any opinions on the vent fan?

Hey Sleeps,
That's quite a list there. I'll give ya the rundown on mine. Actually there was about three lists that size, and still growing.

Let's start with the porch light. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004O ... UTF8&psc=1
I love this thing. It does the job, flawlessly. LED "bulb" puts out 200 lumens, which is just right for the common areas around the fire etc. Its bright but not obnoxious. Heat seeking motion detector (PIR), turns off after 60 sec if it doesn't see a threat. Mounts same as standard rv porch lite, if you are replacing. Auto dusk- dawn photocell, low battery warning and safety shut off if volts less than 11.5, Manual on/ off and Auto mode, and has a trigger wire to close a relay so you can control spot lites etc.from motion detector. Works great when coming back after dark, or if your workin on trailer at night.
Only burns 2.5 watts/hr in full on manual mode, in auto nothing unless triggered. Can get amber lens also.

Power Cord... These aren't cheap so..https://www.amazon.com/Camco-55501-Powe ... nsion+cord
That's the standard rv park cord, I also picked up some adapters for 120/20amp and generator 120 4lug, and 50 amp to 30 amp adapter. It's nice it locks to the 30amp inlet so won't get knocked outta there and a handle to pull out of outlet.

I have a AC also, so I only have a vent/ fan/ light combo in bathroom to remove steam and other "gasses". It's a 1 speed Heng's with light ring. Ebay, I think.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Roof-VENT-w-FAN ... 33b5e4e1eb

On demand water heater kicks butt and saves water/propane. Mounted in bathroom about 4" away from vent fan, sucks exhaust right out.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tankless-Hot-Wa ... 25ad3ed85f

Interior LEDs for task lighting have the dimmers. They are very close to your head in a 6x12x6, so can be too bright http://www.ebay.com/itm/RV-Dome-Ceiling ... fxcQqHOVTA. I am using lots of LED strip lighting on dimmers for indirect lighting around walls and under frig, micro, sink. etc.

Happy Shopping!

Almost forgot. The ampmeters are worth their weight in gold to me They give a lot of info. You can do a real status check very fast. I just gotta know whats going on that I can't see. Also I have a dashboard clock with lit background, indoor/outdoor temps and volts(batt condition). Mounted so I can see from bed so I can get data. It has low batt alert, freeze alarm, alarm clock etc. Very handy.

I bought the same cord and love it. Very well made and heavy duty. https://www.amazon.com/Camco-55501-Powe ... nsion+cord
I'm pleased with the porch light just around the door but will be adding some floodlights of some sort for repair work that might need to be done in the dark. As far as fans go I like the Maxair and will be putting two of them in mine. The reviews seem better than the fantastic fans from what I have seen.

I installed a light very similar (if not the same model) I ordered from this seller on eBay.
I am quite satisfied with it.

Pardon the newb, but what's the skinny on these? Everyone uses them on here, and they seem perfect for under cabinet lighting. If they're too long, are you able to trim them without ruining them? Is there a dummy proof video of install on YouTube? Is there a go to brand, or stay away from brand? Same for the dimmers?

Found out my water fill was just a gravity fill, so I ordered a locking city water/gravity fill on ebay for $20 shipped.

What seems to be the go to for heating? Is the heat strip enough in an rv ac? If you use a small gas heater, what's everyone using for an alarm?

I appreciate all the help. I'm a buggy builder, not a trailer builder. But I traded a trailer I gave $2800 for this and figured I'd could turn out nice for half the price with a little work. Glad I found the forum, finally figured out how to search keywords last night.

Hey Sleeps,
The LED strip lights can be cut to length and connected or terminated. Every 3rd light should have a connector "pad".
You can solder or get a bag or two of these.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/10PCS-2PIN-Conn ... hash=item0

I have the heat strip in my Coleman Mach III AC, and it works pretty good. If you are trying to bring trailer temp up from 30f to 72f, it takes 15min or so. Then it cycles heat on and off and works OK but fan runs constantly, noisy but warm. I also have a LP catalytic heater.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Olympian-RV-Cam ... Swn7JYEttP
It really works! Best when real cold outside. Run on low all night, almost too much heat, but nice when you need it. I don't have an alarm yet, but need one that picks up CO and LP. May have to use separate alarms.

That trailer of yours has a ton of potential and with the skills you have building buggys, it could be amazing. IMHO bathrooms are priceless, kitchens less so. A refrig. is great, and micro's are handy and maybe a lp burner for coffee etc. but we tend to eat at bars and such or BBQ outside.

Good Luck on this project. I'll be watching.

Something like this should work, or is there a better option?

I've got the heat strips in my rooftop AC and they seem to work ok. I don't have all my wall insulation done yet so it has gotten a little cold but I think once that's complete it should do fine.
