Thank you!

What do you think the limitations or abilities of a 40W solar panel? We found one that was on clearance ($ U.S 77.00 including tax) and bought only 1

The limitations are in the size as you know. 40W will be good for trickle charging a battery or battery bank while in storage. It will
only provide a little over 3Amps in full sunghlight in the best of conditions, which is something and I could see it as being very useful to maintain your batteries when in storage. If you have a small battery and you want to use it for running a laptop or charging a phone, or running a few LEDS, at night, it may provide enough power for that if charging all day with good sunlight. I wouldn't expect too much from it.. just because of the size.

That sounds good to me. Thank you

That's a lot of components to put up an awning. I used 10' of 3/4 emt fixed to the top of the wall and these fittings. I cut the assembly pieces in 5' lengths for ease of handling and storage and use a 10x10 tarp with ball bungees. Allows me to have the awning out 10x10, 10x5 with a 5' drop for some privacy, or fold it under for a 10x5.
I have the emt on both sides so I can use the awning on either side, or both sides, if I buy more fittings. They're easy and quick to use and the 3/4 emt pieces give it a lot of strength. Only takes a couple of minutes to set up.

Are you thinking that the EMT, Tees and PVC pipes being 3 Components?

Once the EMT is inserted inside the PVC and the tees are glued it becomes 1 component.

Excluding the tarp and bungees, there's only 9 components (pieces) to handle for easy assembly and storage.

For others benefit, please post a photo of your awning.

Not so much about set up, just seemed like a lot of construction parts. This is my setup. I don't have a picture of it out the full 10 feet, just out 5x10 and down 5' and just out 5' and folded under. I have doors on both sides. The nice thing is that using the parts I have used, you could easily go 10x15, 10x20...out as far as you want.

I think it would be fair to say that your awning and ours are totally different, in form, function and ability.

My comments aren't based on criticism or competition, only observation. But to correct you...they are both the same in function....they're awnings installed to deflect sun and rain.
I drilled 3 holes to mount 3/4 emt to the trailer....you drilled 12 in yours to do much the same thing...so I'll agree they aren't the same in form. I won't judge on ability.

Looks like you have a little dampness there. Great test for the awning. Nice work Hawk.

Looks good, now send some of that rain to Utah. We are about to dry up and blow away here!
