Thanks Don! and McDave, Glad to have some people that have gone through this already!!!

I finally feel like progress is starting.... I Got the Base ceiling installed, I just used the shiny white Masonite... No trim yet... but what we are going to use the first year... might decide to do something different next year....

Image

And picked up some bead board and installed it on the passenger side... sad that a lot of it will be covered.. but we like the look... still need to fill in seams and nail holes and paint.... you can see the steam rolling in... it just finished with another down pour....

Image

Painted a first coat on the floor... and did a test area with the paint flecks to see how it looked...

Had another decent day today, only rained in the morning... Took the Motorcycle out for a ride! still a little cold... but nice to see the toys all together!!

Image

Finished up installing the beadboard except where I need to finish the electrical hook ups...

Image

Image

Also cut the hole for the battery vent...I managed to scratch the paint on the outside... hopefully I can cover the scratches or touch them up...

Went on a little road trip today with the trailer... Actually used it as a cargo trailer to go empty my son in laws fathers (passed away back in January) storage unit...

Image

Image

Image

Drove 230 miles round trip over to Whidbey Island, we drove around instead of taking the Washington state ferry system $$$$$ some beautiful views over deception pass...

Image
Looking North towards the San Juan Islands.

Image
Looking south.

Drove by the Whidbey Island Navel air Station..

Image

The trailer was a nice easy pull heading over... The load wasn't to heavy coming back, but filled the trailer,... a Lot of head wind.... really made a lot of difference.... Was a good experience to know what to expect for our first big road trip....

Your CTC is coming along nicely and appears to pull well with a load. Are you using a load balancing hitch?

That is some beautiful scenery there.

not yet... but definitely will before we take off down the Oregon coast... it had some sway at 70mph.... I wont be as heavy at least the first year... don't really plan on taking the Motorcycle with us this year.... Whidbey Island is a beautiful island... lots of cool exploring... and scenery... a couple of old army bases... and the Navy air base on the island... surrounded by Puget sound... and the San Juan Islands to the north...

We are done using the trailer as a "cargo trailer" !! Moved the last bit of furniture of my Son in Laws Fathers estate.... Now back to the build!! got the trailer home, and this morning before I left the house... I painted another coat of paint on the floor all around the edges... so we could start building on top! by the time I got home... it was too late to do much, but had to do something! so I strapped in the water tank... not much but will help motivate me to tackle the plumbing...

I know why plumbers have a 5 year apprenticeship now.... 2 years just to learn what fittings to use!! crap.. 3 trips to home depot... buy a bag of fittings... only 3 work, return the unused, pick up another bag.... use a few more, take others back... finally mickey mouse' it to work... then I decided to tighten the water line one more turn... and broke the plastic fitting on the pump.... tried epoxy on it.. but don't trust it... so I ordered a new one... I guess I will have spare parts if something happens to this one......

I feel your pain. I did all that except crack the pump. For me, I was glad the hardware store was only 2 miles away. :-)

It's always good to have spares, on board... You probably wont have a failure in the driveway. That's my luck anyway.
I just finished the plumbing before I left for Sturgis last year, pressure test was good, no leaks anywhere. After 3-4 days at Sturgis, we had been visiting some folks in Rapid City and when we returned it was about 5pm and it was hot and very noisey there. As I came past the trailer I noticed a buzzing noise about every 30sec. Eventually it dawned on me I'd better look into it before battery died. Turns out it was the pump cycling, trying to stay pressurized. Then the alarms in my head went off, must be a leak somewhere! I looked all over inside and found nothing. Opened the access panel outside and didn't see anything at pump. So I looked under the rig, nothing. Nothing but an empty fresh tank....I had lost 15-20 gals somewhere over the course of10 hrs. But no puddles? Well hunted and hunted and finally found a leak in a Tee fitting. It was such a fine mist that it was evaporating before it could make a puddle. But, I had extras on board so no biggie, just had to haul in some more H2O, and run the generator to recharge battery. Oh, and I made a sign reads "Turn Off Pump" and put it on the door to remind me when leaving. Don't need that on when I'm not there anyways, and it could have been a real mess.
Moral of the story, carry spares. And turn off pump and anything else you can when you leave.

Howdy All;

Yup, I agree with McDave, turn stuff off if you aren't going to be around. Livin'
in an RV fulltime I learned early to shut off the water whenever I'm going to be
gone for any length of time. I was lucky an had no major or long term damage.
I also take the pressure off the system by opening a tap. Static pressure can leave
a crack that you'll find later when you turn the pressure (water), back on. My
system has a check-valve in the system where the water enters the RV when
hooked to "City" water. The constant flow connection. Pumps, can have a check-
valve internally at the out-flow connection. Not all do, so check what the manufacturer
has to say in the paperwork or on-line.

I decided to go ahead and attempt to repair the water pump... but still going to use the new one when it comes... maybe use this one to pump water into the tank if I need to fill it when no water fill is around.... I bought a brass fitting with a nipple on one end and the 1/2 thread on the other... bought some JB Weld water repair putty (epoxy) mixed it up and wrapped it around the nipple, then inserted into the broken hole.. it is hardening good.... I will try it out tomorrow.. to see if it will hold water...or leak!!

Image

Finally get a whole day tomorrow to work on the trailer... hopefully I will make some big progress!
