I don't know how long this sale is for, but I thought I would pass the info along.

Tempting, really tempting. My frugal side says, "how many bags of ice can I buy?," "how many dozen quality dry flies?" But then I say, heck, its just a few tanks of gas (well about a 15 or so) for the convenience of having a big ole fridge/freezer. But then, I gotta pay more attention to the battery. The things weigh a ton empty. Something else mechanical to maintain and/or go wrong. But, Ben and Jerry's any time I want? :?

Still tempting, but I shall refrain for now. Thanks for the heads up though.

Thanks for the heads up. I just placed my order. I had been waiting for them to go on sale and had even been using https://camelcamelcamel.com to track it....though they aren't seeing it yet.
Thanks again.

I have a 50 QT Truckfridge one and love it. Same concept as the Engel. I use the freezer capability quite a bit. I run it off 120V when I can, but use the 12V feature while traveling.

An Engle MR040F-U1 which is currently discounted to $629.99 would fit in my galley's storage space. Many of the other Engles are too tall to fit in my galley. At a higher, non sale, price there are several good alternatives.

I gave an ARB37, currently priced at $765.21 at Amazon, serious consideration. I'm put off by its cost and am unsure if it has enough capacity for my wants and needs.

A Portable Truckfridge or a Dometic CFX CoolFreeze are alternative chest style ac/dc fridge/freezers in more competitive price ranges.

 I'm favoring the purchase of a Dometic CFX50US CoolFreeze which costs $594.20 + shipping from AdventureRV.net.

My ultimate choice largely depends on storage capacity, power usage, the outside dimensions that can fit in my galley and the current total cost (price+shipping+sales tax) when I'm read and able to buy one.

I don't have either (Yet!), but the overall concensus about the Engel is it draws fewer amps than all the competition. So I read, and hear.

If I recall correctly, I paid about $450 for my Truckfridge. I had found another truck forum that was setting up a group buy. There were some very good prices because of that. Maybe one might Google something like that and see if there are other such group buys taking place. This one I went through was glad to have an outsider jump in as it gave them more buying power.
