I'm not worried about efficiency. My 1200 Btuh Petcool adequately cooled the teardrop. I'm more worried about the window unit being too efficient and not running the compressor long enough to remove humidity.

If you have water hitting the fan, or more likely, the fan hitting the water, you are removing LOTS of humidity. The final phase of the cycle is to remove the "condensed" heat from the condenser, and to properly lower gas and compressor temp.
