Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

Anyone heard of trailers2goforless.com

Postby Spencer88 » Fri Mar 17, 2017 5:42 am

Hello. First post - Love this sight. I've gained a lot of information and ideas already for what I am going after, which is a simple conversion (windows/shore power electric) for camping/mtb biking to whereversville, USA. Limited gear. Me and wife and dog. Just sold my popup to fund this project (popups might be great for some people...I'll never own one again!).
Anyway, in my search for the right trailer, I've come across a dealer/mfg in Douglas, GA named trailers2goforless.com. Has anyone heard of, or dealt with this company? They make Lark and Anvil.
The prices they are offering for a trailer and several options I want are better than what I can do by doing the work myself (mainly, windows and 30amp box). Yea, I would have to road trip to pick it up, but that is not a point of hesitation. I'm in Ohio, so it would be a 7hr trip, but I have reasons for going to Atlanta anyway, so again, a non-issue.
So, has anyone heard of this outfit? Or Lark/Anvil trailers? A sight search, as well as google-doogle search doesnt bring much. thanks in advance...

I did a search and found they are a marketing company. If they don't build or outfit the trailers, you might be able to find the same trailer in Ohio.

Thanks for the information so far. I'm hoping I can legitimize this company, assuming I move forward with them.

I've mentioned to others with similar interests, feel free to take this design, "wash it in hot water" shrink it down to size, and you're off to the races.

Custom ordered from Cargo Craft of Georgia through this dealer in Rome, GA:
http://mathistrailersandequipmentsales.com/

And FWIW, ours has been to Dayton and back.

I bought my trailer and live about 100 miles from these factories I believe most of the companies listed on the trailershopper use the same factories all of the companies are just placing your order with the factories they have contact with.
I have a friend that does work in these factories and he said they are making 400 trailers a day.

Ordered a trailer through colonycargotrailers.com -- picking it up in the same area Wednesday morning. (I live in Pittsburgh, heading to Houston, it's *sort of* on the way...) They were great to deal with so far... will know more soon. Arising trailers is making their trailers.

I'll give my $0.02 worth.
I am in the market for an enclosed trailer, car hauler 24'-26' and have been researching this for a couple of months. Most of the time I have found that the Georgia built trailers are at least a step below the Indiana built ones. Often people have problems with not only build quality but also materials are skimped on, fasteners too small and not enough, thin gauge siding, widely spaced framing, flash coat paint, no undercoat etc. The reason that they are cheap is because you are not getting as much, compare weight to a similar Indiana trailer.

Since you are from Ohio (like me) it would be much easier to visit the RV, trailer, box truck body capital of the world--- northern Indiana. For instance the Elkhart-Goshen area. Trailer manufactures and their component suppliers stand shoulder to shoulder on just about every road. Most factories are happy to answer your questions and show their product within reason as it is a factory not a sales room. Also you can see from the road the trailer frames lined up outside, I found many were "pre rusted" from sitting out in the elements awaiting their turn on the production line. Every factory has a shipping area at the road where delivery vehicles pick up completed trailers to take to the dealers. These drivers are a good source for what manufactures are good and which are not. Also the area has several businesses that sell RV doors and windows picked up from the factories as overstock or scratch and dent.

I have been there a couple of times this year checking out different brands.

Good information to digest regarding Indiana vs Ga builds. I've searched a bit, and havent discovered an online ordering "outfit" for any Indiana manufacturers like there are for the GA's, for example diamond cargo trailers (diamondcargooutlet.com) or the place in the original post being trailers2goforless. Any to turn me on to?

So considering quality, here's a high end, reliable aluminum trailer manufacturer in Nappanee, Indiana
http://www.aluminumtrailer.com/
Who makes these:
http://aluminumtoyhauler.com/
and when you do a dealer lookup you find these guys (trained and authorized ATC dealer) in Ohio:
http://www.rockstrailersales.com/

Edit: looks like they have a fair selection is stock, while a little pricey, remember this is all aluminum, sharp eyed viewers will recognize the higher quality options on this 7 x 14 tandem by ATC. All you need is a couple windows, RV door, maybe do the power yourself, and presto. Don't know how far you are from this dealer, but a yard walk there would give you tons of hands on experience.

Hey they've got everything, how about a 6x12 Haulmark single axle on special $ 2899?
http://www.rockstrailersales.com/print.aspx?sku=37310

Lots of choices out there, plan your design, then have a local dealer custom order your trailer. A few dollars more at the time of order can really save time (and money) later, leaving you free to put your effort into finishing out the inside to your liking.

I bought my new trailer from Cross Trailers out of Elkhart IN. I purchased thru Ty Justus at Wagon Master Truck & Trailer Inc in Robertsdale AL. I'm from OH as well. I priced many GA & IN built trailers before I decided to buy a Cross from Ty. Easy pickup at the factory as well.

I'm from Kentucky and I bought a all aluminum trailer from southern Michigan, R & R trailers. I picked it up at the factory and it was well worth it. Great company and great trailer

As jwhite said, all are just brokers/rep's for these manufacturers, with a few exceptions. Very few actually STOCK anything hence you picking it up at the factory. My local dealer is a actual stocking dealer for several of them so I was able to walk around and look at build quality etc. Cynergy and Arising are two of the better manufacturers from South GA. The cost of my trailer at my local dealer was very very close to what I would have paid thru one of those brokers and my local dealer will stand behind the warranty.
