In my Car Mate, I used sheet foam glued to the aluminum ceiling and then Roxul insulation below that. The Roxul is not supposed to absord mositure. To date I have no complaints.

Irrowe,

Can I ask what you're using for spring-boards to prop up the insulation? I've seen that done before, but can't tell what they are. I thought they might be furring strips, but then... are they 1x2 or 1x3, or 1x4... or something different altogether? I'm ready to cover the ceiling with wallboard I bought, but I don't have enough arms to go around. My wife will be happy to help, but that's probably still not going to be enough to hold the boards up there while I try to get some screws in.

Thanks, Dave

Probably most were 2x2's or anything I had laying around. The adhesive sort of held the panels in place long enough for the support strips to be setup. When I added the Roxul, I had cross strips tacked in place which held them up til the ceiling panels were added.

Edit....1x2's, not 2x2's

I ended up going with the Roxul. It's very east to shape and work with, I was impressed. Now to pull the cabinets off the front wall and insulate the cap.

Why don't you just spray foam it? Even a 2" barrier would help. I had semis in south Texas and that's what I did. I gutted the interior, spray foamed the cavities. And reinstalled the interiors. With just the factory AC, you would need a jacket after a time.
I plan on sliding sideways on fire yelling what a ride when the Lord calls me home.
