Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

I made this step for us to climb up into the trailer without having to complete a high jump. I put blue LED around it and will wire it for 12 volt. to help us see it at night without tripping. We had a pretty nice view with what I thought might be OK for bank fishing... but it wasn't more about the fishing later...

I cut and attached a base for my two propane tanks and cover. I wanted to be able to chain them both up under the cover to prevent them from finding an undocumented home without going through the proper protocol (if you know what I mean!). Nothing major or even noticeable to most, but my wife and I were glad to get the ceiling trim put up to cover the ceiling trim and screws. I guess it is one of those things that it is a good thing if you don't notice it.

Before this weekend excursion, the trailer looked more like a construction zone than a camper so we obviously did not load it down with all our camping supplies that we would normally take. And because of that there were several things that we overlooked and forgot to bring... One of those was our TV power cord! We packed and mounted our brand new 32" Smart TV but forgot to pack the "stinking" power cord! I don't watch a lot of TV even at home, but my wife wanted to watch a little and just see what channels we could get out in the boonies. We eventually found a place where we could get a power cord and all was well in our little neighborhood!

We found an air-strip for Remote Controlled Airplanes on an outing and we stopped and enjoyed watching and visiting with some of the pilots. Pretty Cool! 8)

I was so tired and hungry that first evening... I would have eaten a horse! Who knows, I may have depending what the packing plant's scruples were last week!!!

Anyway, the Chili-Cheese and Mustard Hot Dog was a great satisfier even without the onions! We were able to cook some hamburgers out on the grill that was hard to beat. We had some sweet grapes and berries to go with our eggs, sausage and biscuits to made it to our breakfast plates. All and all, we ate pretty well!

Since we had tons of room of freezer space, my wife packed an abundance of hush-puppies and all the trimmings to go with all the fish that she knew her “He-Man”, “Super-Hero” fisherman would bring reel in for supper. Well it didn’t happen! Nobody on the whole lake were catching anything with the exception of a stray gar/trash fish or two. In another two weeks this lake will be on fire I betcha! It’s all about the water temps and levels, I guess.

Anyway, you remember that TV power cord I was telling ya about don’t ya? Well, that same humble little establishment also carried frozen breaded jumbo shrimp… My eyes locked with my wife’s eyes and we knew it was destined to be! Shrimp for supper! No shame here! You won’t tell anybody will ya?

Here is Saturday’s lite breakfast.

We were using some zero degree sleeping bags that were an over-kill, but they were nice and wide unlike our 35-40 degree bags that were narrower. We kept both windows cracked open about 3 inches and the ceiling vent opened for some air flow. We used a little tower heater with a nice thermostat that turns on and off automatically during the night when set.

:applause:
Wow! That looks like a really great, fun, relaxing trip. And I'm glad you didn't miss any meals... Trailer is looking good and the ceiling came out nice. I love the Idea of the LED's in the step box. I am on my 3rd or 4th variant of the box. I ran over the previous models pulling out of my driveway! I am going to build a step that retracts at some point but for now it is a milk crate with a hinged lid. I store my levelling jacks in there and so far I haven't tried to drive off without those.
Really good to see you enjoying your trailer. Have fun with it and remember, they call it fishing not catching for a reason....
