A lot of questions!

Postby azhunter79 » Mon Sep 18, 2017 9:23 am

I've been lurking around this message board for a while getting ideas for my 7x14 build, and it's going to be cool enough to start working on it soon! I have a lot of questions that I'll be throwing out there soon, but let's start with the windows, where does everyone buy windows? has anyone bought used, there's an RV salvage yard in Phoenix that has a lot. What should I be looking for if I did buy used?
Is there anyone on here from her Phoenix area,I'm in Gilbert.

When I was picking up my trailer from the factory, l asked if they had any scratch and dent windows in the back. I ended up with two nice windows for $100 each.

Welcome,
I had to shop around ebay to get mine. You may be lucky to be in a larger area with salvage dealers. I would certainly take a look at what they have.

I salvaged two of my windows from an old truck camper and I bought a used emergency exit window on EBay. Make sure you get the trim ring also with the used windows. The exact ring needed can be difficult to find later.

Hannah RV supply. I got two new 42x18 with screens and trim rings sized to my wall depth for $280 shipped total. I wasted a lot of time searching used and ebay for junk and it wasn't worth the effort.

Check with the manufacturer to see what they would charge. Here is the info I have:
R&R: 30x15 or 30x22 for $135 each
Legend: 30x15 for $215 each
NEO: 30x30 for $204

This is assuming you would be ordering a new trailer, wasn't sure if you already had your trailer. These are installed prices.

I ordered my Pace Journey SE with 30 x 15 sliders and I think they were about 135 each installed.

If you can get them installed from the factory for those prices do it. They are not fun to install

I bought two windows for a friend from a member of this forum for $35.00 each. Also got my WFCO 8955 power center for $50.00 from the same guy. Also a rooftop AC free, paid shipping and gratuity only, from a different member. Lots of deals out there, Caveat Emptor. But if you have the time and patience you can build a loaded trailer for 20% or less of the cost of manufactured. I did it and so have many others. It's mine, built for me, by me, on a all cash basis.

Bought mine from factory and had it installed, 30x15 installed for $125.00. My only regret was not having two of them installed.

Vintage technology is where I'm planning to get mine from either direct or through eBay. I'm in Mesa myself. Always be nice to have someone in area to bounce ideas off.
