Camping in Campgrounds

Postby bushido41 » Thu Dec 21, 2017 1:40 pm

Hello Everyone,

Im considering on starting an Enclosed trailer project. I mainly stay on campgrounds, unlike many of our members from the west, that stay in more rustic areas. I was wondering from the members that stay on campgrounds, if they had any issues staying on them. I read sometime ago that some campgrounds will not allow campers that do not have an RVIA seal on the trailer.

I will appreciate very much all the help you can provide.

Regards,

Ed

I’ve never been denied by a campground and I’ve stayed at both private RV campgrounds and at state parks. I’ve heard some people say they have been denied at RV parks because they are not RV’s but luckily that hasn’t happened to me yet. When making reservations just say you have a pop up trailer.

I haven't stayed at any RV parks or State parks with RV sites, but almost everybody seems to like this sticker.

Been in 50 or so campgrounds - state, federal, private - in Calif, Az and Nevada - I've seen a cargo conversation in everyone of them at one time or another. I think it is an insurance thing with the RV park, they probably get reduced rates in their overcrowded slums for fire safety because the sticker is fireproof,

No, there are snooty “RV Resorts” that don’t want riff-raff with other-than-new-fancy rv’s dragging down their high image. It’s a real thing.

Hi Ed:

Since 2015, my wife and I have travelled north to the Yukon, south the California, east to the Maritime provinces and eastern seaboard of the US, back across the plains to the west coast, then south to the US desert southwest and back home.

We have never been refused at any RV resort or campground. However, we have not stayed in the "high-end" RV parks; they might be difficult IMHO. But for the average RV park, campground, state or provincial park, absolutely no problems.

Hope this helps.

I never heard of such a thing. But I like it. Good way to know not to stay there.

ImageWe were asked for a pic of our 16' CT and TV, when we made reservations in AZ for Jan- Feb. They did accept us but put us way out back. Wife's brother is there now and tried to move us to a site that was open near him and was told no. Thats ok with me. In the same park is close enough :D They have a 10 yr old limit rule and are a little ritsy.
