new 6x12 build

Postby BHarris419 » Tue Mar 20, 2018 6:39 pm

I have a 6x12 that I have insulated walls and ceiling. I'm planning on putting 14x21 vertical windows in between studs.
Do I need to take walls and insulation out to cut window holes? Camped last week a few days with lows into the 20's. Bottom cots got cold but next night bought some cheap walmart camping pads which helped.

Hello BHarris419,
Lots and lots of window information here. But short and sweet, No. I would build a template or "jig" that has the proper dimensions and has locating holes that you would attach to the studs on either side. Since you won't need to cut any studs probably won't need to install a header or sill plate. It is just a matter of cutting the correct size hole in the correct place and not destroying the metal skin or plywood inside wall.
