10' x 8' Awning on a 6 x 12 V-Nose CTC

Postby phoenixbound » Tue Apr 17, 2018 7:12 am

Planning for an awning on my 6 x 12 V-Nose CTC. I am pretty sure I will be getting a 10' (length) x 8' (width) awning. Any pictures out the of this size of awning on my size of trailer? Just trying to see how it would line up. Also, does Aleko always quote the length first on their website? I am assuming that, but I have never ordered from them. Thank you.

my trailer is a 6x12 but not a v nose. This awning is 9 feet. A dometic 8500. just info. The trailer structure will determine just how long you can go. As you can see, 9 feet was the max for my trailer. Good luck.

Very helpful, thanks. I need to go measure again.

Thanks McDave. At first I wondered why you mounted on a raised bracket, but now I see you had to clear the door. Nice.

Yeah, I probably over did that a bit, there is 6' of clearance at the closest point but I just wanted to get it mounted before the Ironhorse rally. Rev. B will be a lot cleaner and 4" lower and 1.5 "closer to wall. But It is functional and travels well as is.

That is one of the cool things about doing a CTC. There are no set rules about how it can be customized. Whatever works for you, do it. BTW, I am guessing that I can use self tapping screws on the strip where the awning gets mounted. Looks like I will have to sacrifice a couple of clearance lights on that side. Even if I could leave them they are not going to be visible. Thanks again for all of the comments and pics.
