I was going to put mine at the top too but after my first outing I opted to place it at the bottom. I found that I will most likely travel with them in the down position unless I have my motorcycle. When I came back all the stuff we had under the bunks had slid and moved. So the thought is this will keep said stuff under the bunks better. No issues with my heels hitting the brace.

As for the legs traveling to far out it’s a moot point they can tip past the full upright position but only by 1/4”-1/2”.. as they hit the 2x cross piece at the top. Even with out the brace on the legs traveling over 10 miles of washboard the legs didn’t move.

Well out and traveling. We’ve put 800 miles this trip. By the time we get home the trailer
Will have run 1,100 miles this trip. Everything’s worked out great. Few minor tweaks as we go along but all in all it gets the job done. Solar lights have been great, bunk system is great, awning is great! All great! Getting on the road and seeing the sights, priceless!

Wrap up from the trip. Everything performed perfectly. We traveled almost 1,200 miles. RAV4 averaged 17MPH over the entire trip. Average temp for most days was 80-100 when we weren’t on the coast. At he coast temps were 65-75.

We hit every port between California and The Central Coast of Oregon.

This boat is the first boat I ran after acquiring my masters license!

Ended the trip fishing in Depoe Bay Oregon. My family owns a charter fishing business there.

How old were you when Dad let you come in "Over the Bar" on your own?
Depoe, is on the legendary list.

Let’s see I start d fishing when I was 8. First calm bar crossing was probably around 9. Rough bar crossing was probably 14-15.

Used to take my 10’ inflatable Zodiak (25 HP outboard) across the bar all the time from 14-18, but only when there wasn’t a bar restriction. I’d run that boat out 3-4 miles offshore and salmon fish or go down south to Otter rock and play in the surf.

Ran the boat above from 18-22. Then bought my own boat and ran that for 8 years.

Made several boat deliveries on both coasts.

Now I just go fishing for fun.

That white stuff on yer shoulders ain't dandruff, must be Salt.
You learned your seamanship at one of the best and well hidden
locations. How many folks you figure miss the entrance during a month?

PS nope never been there, just heard many stories about it when
I was in the Guard. Some outstanding short videos on youtube too.

Howdy All;

Dirtsailor and I were discussing his home part of the world and used a few terms
y'all may not be familiar with especially "the Bar". We weren't referring to one
where ya belly up for an adult beverage. from 1:42 through the 2:00 mark you'll
see why it's so well respected and takes a bit to learn the finer points of getting
in and out of the Harbor there. The yellowish patch is part of the area known as
The Bar.

The Coast Guard hit the rocks a few months back in one of their 47’ boats. There a video of it on YouTube somewhere as it was all over the news.

One of the most violent hits ever in Depoe Bay was also the Coast Guard. That was the 44’ lifeboat. Punched a softball size hole in the bow. The life poles on the side launched like missiles. Crew member that was standing behind the tow bollard broke his nose on it.

Yep Depoe Bay is a unique harbor to run for sure. Wait for flat spots to come in on and you’ll be fine unless your out when you shouldn’t be.

Made a screen insert for my port hole window. I will silicone it in place.

I have also screened the inlets for the side wall vents. Skeeters and no see ums have been finding their way in!

I hate those darn mosquitos and no-see-ums … they can ruin a night’s sleep … good screens are a must in my opinion. There have been times when there have been swarms upon swarms of mosquitos crawling over every square inch of my screens trying to find a way in.

Bought one of the $19.99 magnetic door screens on Amazon for the curb door. Installed it today. Looks like it’s going to work out nicely. Installation is easy. It’s all Velcro sticky tape. You could screw it in if you wanted too. It’s about a foot too long but doesn’t seem to be an issue. If I think it’s going to be an issue I’ll have my wife hem it up. The excess hangs out the door or I can pile it up on the floor.

Looks like your 'plan' is pulling itself together nicely. Even noticed ya have the rake
set so you can give yerself a final neaten up on the way out the door.
