Well I'm under a little diress, my wife had already booked a campsite!! :R

BTW this all took place last week. I didn't have any free time to get the journal going with the deadline looming. Sheesh! I was working on this thing every night after work.

I hate dead lines. From what I see your not cutting any corners..

I'm doing my best not to rebar, my wife often says jokingly that I am the king of 99% I'll get a project almost complete and then move on to another.

With the bedframes installed I moved on with getting the bathroom built. With the camping date fast approaching I figured it was more important than the kitchenette and by working my way along towards the back of the camper I could make adjustments to the subsequent components as I linked them, i.e. by the time I got done with the bathroom the future rear bench area shrank from 36 inches to 34.

The last two walls were framed for the addition of plumbing at a later date.

I installed the bathroom light before I skinned it so I would be able to see in there! It's an led surface mount.

And the door installed

I used a decorative screen door latch for the hardware and it locks too.

I got a little out of order because I built the rear bulkhead wall before the bathroom

The concept

Framing it up

The slot at the top of the door is for an eventual duct to pass a/c out to the fold out room ;)

Maybe its more that I like to procrastinate.. Or be 100% that I'm not making a mistake.

What kind of wood paneling is that?

I got the bathroom together quicker than expected so on to the kitchenette!
155018

All of the kitchen cabinets were installed as I built them on the night before we were to go camping!

I ended up running out of time and forgot the drawer header and lower pantry door at work so those didn't get attached before we left.

The countertop is temporary until I can get the laminated one done.

I got it from Lowes, it's called "blonde wood" it came pre primed for painting and what you are seeing is the back side. We liked the look of the straight grain so I turned it backwards and clear coated it.

A couple of little details that I was able to knock out on the day we were to leave for the campground (and much needed).

Bought a cheap work platform from harbor freight and had to cut off 4" to get it to the right height.

I used these command hooks for curtain rod brackets, so far they seem to be holding well :D

And lastly a few shots with the beds made and some last minute items before we pulled off the driveway.

Can't wait for the details on the fold out room. A similar thought has been swirling around in my head.

I'm entering into the design phase for the rear room now. Originally we were just going to fold the ramp down and use it as an elevated deck but you know how things go, as your design develops you begin to see new uses.

So instead of just a deck I'm going to try and create a fold out room addition on the gate.

My first inclination is to make the fold out hinged so that it just swings into place but with the lift mechanism cables for the door in the way I'm finding that to be problematic; that and my wife wants to still be able to walk out the back door if the room isn't fully raised and use it like a deck. :(

So shifting gears I am thinking more of a hybrid setup with the roof and end wall being hinged and the side walls constructed as sips that will slide into an H channel to hold them in place. 8)

H channel connecting each panel.
155093

Sliding the sips into place from the rear.
155092

Sips stored for folding.
155091
With the sips stored and only the roof and end wall raised it becomes a covered deck which we could potentially hang screen from and make a screened porch. :R

Folding the room up.
