How are you guys finding, drilling, and securing your interior fixtures when your CT comes with finished walls? Is there a stud finder type tool for metal posts/frame?

An old school magnetic stud finder should work fine.

I mocked up this little demo on the table to show how my stud finder penetrated all the junk.

I attached mine with self tapping metal screws. I used the screws that the manufacturer used to attach the plywood to determine where to attach the e track. In the photo see the screws on either side of the e track? That's where the studs are.

What about the floor? What size screws are you using?

I got 1/4 x 1.5" self tapping screws for the ones going into the frame under the 3/4" flooring. Then I'm going to do 1/4 x 1.25 bolts with 1" washers and nylon nuts every 4" between the frame points.

I'm surprised that the etrack bolting points don't line-up well with the 16" on-center frame beams.
