Change In Kitchen Layout

Postby jwh92020 » Tue Nov 20, 2018 6:09 pm

I'm posting these mainly to see if I have a camera/computer issue or a Facebook issue. When I posted these pics on FB, they didn't post, just a link that says "contains:indoor". If you click on the link, the pics pop up. Anyway, I had planned to have my refrigerator on the counter top for a number of reasons - Don't have to bend down so far, floor space, all that kind of stuff. After having it up there while I've been working on the trailer, I realized it takes up too much space. I built a small cabinet at the end of the bed and moved it there. I like the openness of the counter top, and seeing the cedar back splash is a good thing. I still need to put a face frame on the cabinet & clear coat it, and pull another 110v line to the cabinet. I can fit comfortably between the frig and the counter top, so regular sized people will have no problem.

jwh92020, Howdy;

Likein' that mini cabinet for the fridge. Kinda like the one my RV fridge sits on
with the heater (furnace), under it.

hankaye - Not sure what I'll use that space for. I may just stick s drawer in it for the time being. You can never have too much drawer space, can you?

Re: Change In Kitchen Layout - Completed

Postby jwh92020 » Mon Nov 26, 2018 3:19 pm

Took a couple days off for Thanksgiving, so now it's back to work. Frig cabinet is in and door hardware is on. The two doors on the far left are where the sink is going. I connected them together so they open as one to allow easy access to the water tank going in that cabinet. The far right doors are storage and I kept them separate in case the cabinet needs to be accessed while outside the trailer. The center cabinet is where the porta potty will sleep.

Lookin' good, jwh.
Can't have too much drawer space, OR counter space.
What species are your cabinets? It looks like the charred cypress a friend used in his horse trailer/sleeper.
I love the ruggedness of it.

They do tend to evolve, don't they?
Everything in mine sure has... Still is.
I'm not going outside until the temperature is above my age.

Well done Sir!!! , .

Much safer to 'Flame' a few chunks of wood rather then a spouse
or other family member

karebu - The wood is whitewood, some type of basic pine type stuff that Home Depot sells. Cheap & looks good. Works for me.
